I'm absolutely delighted with my Professional Straight Edge Barber Razor! As a man who takes his grooming seriously, I was looking for a high-quality straight razor that would deliver a smooth, close shave. This razor exceeded my expectations - the premium stainless steel blade is incredibly sharp and the shaving strop is a great addition. I've been using it for both home and salon grooming and the results are fantastic. Highly recommend for any man looking to elevate his shaving game!

Surprisingly good razor for the price. Not even close to shave ready, but, well ground and decent steel. The geometry was good, no rocking and everything in good order. The cutting edge was sharp enough to shave hair, but, barely. It appeared to be machine ground at far too steep an angle and I had to reset the bevel, which required quite a bit of work. The steel was quite hard, judging by the effort required to remove metal, and a 55 test file skated on it while a 60 started to bite. After finishing at 12K and stropping, it shaved well and time will tell how it holds up. The blade is pretty good for the price, fit and finish were decent. The scales were kinda clunky, but, well constructed and pinned with the blade well centered. The strop that came with it is rubbish.

The razor itself works, it was sharp out of the box and has stayed sharp stropping it on the same flat strop I use on my other knives. The pivot is super loose not however and it does not really stay closed on its own, which does not matter while it sits in a drawer. The strop it comes with is bad, I would recommend finding something else to maintain it with other than the included strop.

So far the razor seems to be made with good steel. The leather strop that came with the razor, I think is a little short, could be longer.

This is actually a quite nice straight razor. It is well made, and arrives very sharp. It is easy to use, and does a good job. It is nothing fancy, but in all reality, who needs a over-priced tool to do a simple job like shaving. It comes wrapped in a leather strop for sharpening - attach a hook to a wall at a level that is comfortable for you to use, and you are set. If you have never used a straight razor before, practice first, else you will look like an extra from a slasher movie set. And give yourself time for shaving - using a straight razor is not a quick thing, but more of a ritual event, and takes time and patience to do a good job. Perhaps use your disposable razor for workday mornings, and this nice razor for relaxed weekend shaving. A quite decent product that evokes my learning to shave as a lad, and still is relevant today.

The handle and razor from tip to tang seems to made of high quality material. Although material and build quality is high, the stock razor edge from the factory was not and required sharpening to finish the first shave. The strop that was included seems to of decent quality and have nothing negative to say about it. Overall this is a good beginner straight razor and strop to learn and start your journey of shaving with a straight razor. NOTE: Although not very sharp from the factory, please use excessive care around the blade. Always store blade in handle even if to apply more cream/gel to your face or while putting it down to attend to something else mid-shave. One small lapse of judgement can seriously hurt yourself or someone around you.

I shave with a safety razor but like to use a straight razor for my sideburns. The build quality of this GASVM Professional Straight Edge Barber Razor is actually quite good at this price point ($20). The strop is cheap but functional. Good thing, because the factory edge on this is about as good as a butter knife. It was so dull that I thought it would be consigned to my tool box, but after some time with a sharpener and the strop, it became very serviceable. I’d recommend this if you feel comfortable putting an edge on it. Otherwise give it a pass and go for a safety razor or a higher end straight razor.

I’ve wanted to get one of these straight razors ever since I found my great Grandfather’s shaving cup. I wouldn’t say it’s the highest quality. The rivets aren’t pounded down flush and it’s not the greatest finish but I imagine 100 years ago, the originals weren't much better. The blade is fairly sharp and I managed to draw a little blood shaving a small spot on my arm. I worked it on the strop for a while and it was noticeably sharper. Now I just have to work up the courage to actually shave my face with it.
