I love these shoes. This is my 2nd pair. I love the ankle wrap design bc you can adjust them better. Unlike many ankle wrap sandals, these stay put so you onky have to tie them once and they stay all day. The only negative thing is the bottoms are really slick so you have to be careful indoors or on a slick floor. I solved this by adding a few rows of clear silicone grout to the bottoms. I walked over the beaches and jungles of Costa Rica in these and they lasted and never looked bad. Can't wait to get more colours!

Several years ago, I purchased Gerkees rope sandals to complete my pirate costume. I wore them over and over and over again to many pirate festivals and Renaissance fairs, even lent them out to friends. They got wet, they tromped through dirt and mulch. I even put them in the washer! Eventually they wore out. I kept thinking about replacing them and finally got around to it a few weeks ago because my daughter and I were planning to vend at a pirate festival. I happened upon the Nomadic State of Mind sandals as I was searching Amazon, and fell in love with these Roman sandals.I tried them on, the fit was great, they were comfortable, all was well. The first day I wore them, my daughter and I were setting up our vending tent in the early morning, and the sandals got wet from the dew in the grass. No biggy. When we were finished setting up, I took them off and let them dry out. At the end of the day, I put them in my car and drove to CVS before heading to my hotel. As I was exiting the car, I notice a faint odd odor. I wasn't sure if it was coming from the car or the outside air and didn't think too much about it. The next morning, I decided to wear my flip flops. The sandals were still in my car. As I was loading up the car, I noticed the odor again and said something to my daughter about it. The scent was like a mouse had crawled into my car and died. I looked around the car thinking maybe I'd inadvertently left food in my car. Nope.We vended the second day of the festival, then packed up and went home. When I unpacked my car, and got to the Nomad sandals on the floor of the back seat, I found my culprit. The sandals smelled awful! I know they were dry when I put them in my car. They had from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm to dry out in hot Florida temps. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them now. They are on my back porch airing out. If the odor remains, I'm going to have to throw them away.In every other way, the sandals are fine. However, they cannot get wet without smelling like a dead yak, which means they could not go through the washer like the Gurkees. For this reason, I do not recommend them.

ordered my regular size but they are too long and floppy. Need to get a size smaller. Unfortunately I have to pay for shipping to return them. Rope is soft and they are good quality. Feels like being barefoot.

I am in a larping group and my persona is a Roman Gladiator. These sandals complete the look perfectly! They're quite comfortable and the fit was spot on. However, I did notice that I didn't have much traction when testing them outside. Now granted it did rain earlier today so that probably played a lot onto it. However I do wish I was able to get a better grip. I'd hate to slip and fall in mid-attack.

I love them! I can't wait for summer, I'd wear them year round if weather permitted it. I love that I can throw them in the washing machine and they come clean.. and they stay in Tact!

I adore the way these things look!! They are quite comfortable too and the rope straps haven't been abrasive on my legs at all- although I haven't worn them for a full day out quite yet. I do worry about the traction, it's a bit slippy slidey. They aren't trekking sandals but still definitely adorable enough to wear to a beach party.

Review for Romano Sandals and Mountain Momma Sandals...These were my first sandals from Nomadic State of Mind. They are super comfortable! My shoes are normally size 8, and the size 38 fit great in both. When I can't be barefoot this summer, I'll be wearing these and the Mountain Momma sandals!
