It works!
I bought this to help ween myself off of sugar and use as a crutch when a craving hits. It does change the taste of sweetness. Like a carrot is still good - just not as sweet. After my first time trying it I tried honey and it was a weird astringent taste that was not great - so definitely effective at making sugar-foods a turn off in the short term.

Curbs ability to taste Sweet flavors
Idk why some ppl got upset with what this tea does. Idk why they were upset the tea doesn't taste good. It's like getting mad at your blood pressure medicine for bringing your blood pressure to normal. The tea is not made for you to enjoy it's taste it's made to curb your want for sweet things. Now it doesn't necessarily stop you from wanting sweets mentally. It just makes you not be able to taste it when you put it in your mouth. I don't check my blood sugar so idk if it effects that at all but immediately stopping your tongue from tasting sweets it definitely does. So I've been trying to have at least a cup a day. It doesn't bother my ability to eat savory or other flavors like eggs, mushrooms, vegetables/meats in general taste normal. Pop some cookies in your mouth after a cup of this tea and you'll think you put a bunch of sand in your mouth. It works. I tried some honey, I tried some of my cookie butter after a cup, taste was disgusting had to spit it out. And make sure you boil the tea bag get the tea strong. It works best that way.

Do your research
Do your research so you know what you're getting. This is a quality tea, but it's not something that I'll be rushing out to buy and offering to my guests. This is an herb that you'll be drinking for the health benefits and not the taste. I find it's somewhat more palatable when mixed with lemon and ginger. The taste isn't just earthy (like a mate or St. Johns Wort), but there's also a flavor and aroma that I haven't encountered before. Your "taste" for this tea may need to be acquired.
