Baird's No. 1 Fangirl
Arrived pretty quickly, but who cares about that?BAIRD'S DIARY/JOURNAL/WHATEVER. It's like it was taken right out of the Gears universe, and from the one and only Damon S. Baird himself! Excuse my pterodactyl fangirl squeals. It's witty, it's funny but it's also insightful and quite an emotional ride. A great book for anybody that enjoyed GoW: Judgement (or even if you didn't!). Lots of amazing extra information on Baird, Cole, Paduk and Sofia. Ugh, just fantastic.I might be a tad bit bias though because I love Baird more than oxygen [:

A Gears of War fans dream!
Absolutely fantastic addition for any gaming fan of Gears of War. One of the best video game focused books I've seen.A ton of information and lore and absolutely brilliant illustration and "in-world" items as well throughout the pages. A must have!

Companion book to 'Gears of War: Judgment'
Say what you will about Gears of War: Judgment, it did give us an idea of what things were like in that first harrowing month after Emergence. And this well-written, beautifully put together companion book gives the whole thing more depth. It takes the form of a slightly unconventional 'War Journal' written from the perspective of Kilo Squad's (rather temporary) leader, and my personal favourite Gearsverse character, Damon S. Baird. I can hear you groan and go "Oh no, not him again!", but Baird is a different man from the snarky, antisocial (but very smart) Gear we're familiar with from the first three games. The intelligence is still present, but he's quite a bit younger, a great deal less cynical (you try fighting a war for fourteen years and see what it does to your personality), a lot nicer, and seems almost naïve.The background detail is what really helps this book to shine. Attachments pasted to the pages of the journal range from a bank note and a sweet packet right up to Baird's father's death certificate and Cole's collectible Thrashball card. Even some of Baird's studies of the Locust make it in there. All in all, I'd recommend this book for anyone who likes Gears of War (unless of course you didn't like Judgment), and I'd *highly* recommend it to any fellow Baird fans out there.

Solid
I'm not too good with reviews even if Gears of War is the best game I've ever played. Played all the games (including judgement, I ain't sour to say I'm on that 'hate' bandwagon because it's different to its original trilogy) read all the books and comics/lore. This is solid art book which brings you into Sera's world and makes you understand Baird and even Paduk more as a person, wish they would release more of these style books with the original trilogy

Enjoyable
An enjoyable and informative read but lacked the witty sarcasm I’ve come to expect from Baird

Only had a quick flick through but like what I've seen
Only had a quick flick through but like what I've seen, it's like "New York Collapse" and the book they did for AC Unity, the game was awful but the book was really well done.

Surprising
This surprised me its actually very good, a good amount of back story about characters and events. A nice touch is clippings from the newspaper on e day or cole's collectible thrashball card.

The gears that grind.
Currently gobbling up anything gears related at the moment. Some goofs on eBay want astronomical sums of cheddar for the original comics. They can kick rocks, this book is great for any gear heads.

Top of the line

Nothing but praise about this book.
This is a wonderful addition to your Gears library. It shows the character of Baird in a very different light and if you didn't like him before, you will change your mind after reading this. The story of Judgment is told through the eyes of someone who was there, which gives it much more weight and meaning. Baird's unique perspective on reluctantly becoming a soldier and evolving as one is fascinating to understand.Pay special attention to the letter he writes to his mother. The art is stunning and complements everything you already know about GoW. I really loved this book.
