If you remember when these games were new you're too old to play them
This is essentially a "game stick" that plugs directly into the hdmi port on a tv. Power comes from a usb cable ( you have to supply your own charger) and setup is very, very easy. Just plug and play. The controllers are a little on the small side and in some of the games can be sluggish or laggy but not as bad as some of the cheapies you can find sold on Amazon. Be warned though that as this emulates a number of old consoles you can't use the controllers with anything else. You don't get the 20,000 games advertised and only the gullible would believe that but you do get a seriously healthy selection of old retro games from the late 90's upto early 2000's. There are titles like Crash Bandicoot, Sims, Command & Conquer and if you're into Castelvania, Crash Bandicoot or Mario you're spoiled for choice. Now come some of the bad bitsA lot of the games are cracked ports from old PC versions and as there's no upscaling you get to enjoy them in their original 640x480 or lower glory. This makes some of the games virtually unplayable on a modern TV as you just can't see what's going on.As the controllers have to emulate a lot of different platforms it's not always easy to work out what button does what.A fair proportion - I'd say about half are originals that never made it out of the Japanese market so unless you can read Kanji they aren't much use in the West. In fact a lot of the game titles on the main menu have been translated into English via Norwegian and Klingon. I dread to think how you play "Angry Family Aunty Fighter" - Poor Nan!A small number of games either won't load or are unplayable whilst others give you no way back to the menu without disconnecting the power. At the end of the day you get what you pay for. For thirty odd quid it's not a bad purchase and at least it works.if you like the old 8-bit Abandonware stull and can't be bothered mucking around with emulators or sailing the seven seas downloading old ROMs. then this is a cheap alternative. I do suspect though given the variety of games, somebody has been playing fast and loose with software royalties or licenses but best not to ask.As a cheapie console it would certainly keep young children happy as a surprise on Christmas morning and after a few drinks the adults could join in the the words "Finish Him!" echoing in their dreams.Genuinely expected worse but not that bad for the price.
