Depends on what kind of connection your older barrels/splitters have in them, plus then you have to make sure that you have matching Ohmage also..?!  If you use one of these 75ohm cables and your barrels/splitters are 50ohm... it's going to hinder your video signal and it's not going to look as clear and crisp as it should since the 50ohm barrel/splitter is going to apply more resistance to the signal and 50ohm cables/barrels are really meant more for SD 4:3 quality!  Any sources that you have that are going to be HD 1080p up to 4K, 8K, etc., you are going to want to use the 75ohm cables and/or barrels/splitters!  I personally wouldn't recommend using the newer hi-res 75ohm cables with anything that is older or rated for 50ohms because you can run into video degradation problems with the 75ohm converted into 50ohm, or you may possibly end up with the signal not being sent at all!  Because once they upgrade the cables and adapters/splitters so that they handle and process the higher quality a/v signals, there's a VERY good chance that the older and the newer will not be compatible..?!  It's one of those technological things where, 'it may work, but it also may NOT work!?'  So it all depends on what you are using it for and whether or not when you go to use it, that it has to be able to work at that particular moment...!?  I personally do a lot of video streaming of sports events and I've got to be ready and rolling by the time the game starts, so I can't just try to match old with new and if it doesn't work, I'll try it again next week with all updated gear!!  Out of good practice I like to have everything in its updated format and also have a backup cable/adapter/splitter, just in case one of those items is a 'dead on arrival' cable or it somehow gets pinched and shorts out...! Just always remember that the higher the Ohmage rating is, the least resistance you will have, that's why 50ohms will not process hi-res A/V because 50ohms has more resistance than 75ohms!
