OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover Powder, 3 lb

I used about a quarter scoop of this Oxiclean mixed with a small amount of Dreft detergent to freshen & clean some lace cut from an antique wedding gown. It took several hours of soaking & rinsing in water, but I was very pleased with the result. It brightened the lace & took away any yellowing or stains. I did pretreat any small stains by rubbing the diluted mixture very gently into the fabric before allowing it to soak. It did not break down the lace or dull down the beading, & I was thrilled that my daughter was able to wrap her wedding day bouquet of fresh flowers in lace that was over 50 years old from her grandmothers wedding gown! I’m posting this review for anyone wondering if it’s gentle enough for a project like this, like I wondered! Note that this would NOT be suitable on silk material, but for me, it was gentle enough on imported vintage lace. Always test on a small spot to be sure, of course, or do a little research first. I found someone on YouTube using these cleaners on an antique lace gown, so I felt confident giving it a try. So glad I did. The results were lovely.

My girls had stashed it somewhere and when I found it, it was covered in grass, permanent marker and mold stains from being damp from them taking it outside and laying it on wet grass when they were playing at home with my husband who was left in charge.It’s my go to for everyday laundry as it covers most types of stains. It with the other product saving my quilt, I won’t forget

This stuff (If you follow the instructions) will clean ANYTHING. From concrete, glass and your toughest Smeg.

I love OxiClean - keep it in a jar with a shaker top on it and add it to every load of laundry and put it on stains as well!
