Baps dvd DVD – 3 Aug. 2001

Looooooove this film.

I enjoyed this money. Quite a sweet film to watch.

What can I say? I love this film. Why? Because it's so bad, that it's good! Not exactly a fantastic vehicle for Halle Berry nor Martin Landau and it was a stereotypical depiction of how someone people might perceive those living in a southern state in the US. Halle Berry and Natalie Desselle (who play Nisi and Mickey, respectively) are 2 waitress wannabes in a cafe, who dream of opening their very own salon/restaurant. The only problem is the fact that neither of them has much money.Until they're hired by a scheming relative of an elderly man, who was banned from marrying a girl because of her colour, so Nisi is drafted in to play this lady's granddaughter.Things start to go wrong when the 2 girls start bonding with the elderly man (Landau). They soon realise the Nephew is up to no good, but they get embroiled in the Nephew's scheme.This movie is riddled with corny lines and both the characters and storyline are very cliched; but despite all that, I really like this film.

BAPS is, as far as I know, not available on Blu-Ray. This is therefore the highest quality version I could purchase. Loved the movie.

Saw a bit of this film in a gay bar called Harvey's in Castro, San Francisco. It was being shown on huge screens wwith no sound but subtitles instead. It is a scream. Halle Berry in an outrageous blonde wig is fabulous and Natalie Desselle as her slightly more than curvy, soul food cooking friend is sublime. But it is Ian Richardson, looking down his proud, English butler's nose that steals the show. If you want depth in your movies look elsewhere, if you want camp entertainment you've come to the right place.

Watched this with my daughter. Laughs and tears. A great movie!!!

Still funny as ever!

Was looking forward to watching this movie but unfortunately for some reason it won't play on any DVD player,very disappointing

Sometimes I just want to see Hally Berry in BAPS. She's excellent and so is her co-star, and I love the story line. Shalom.

. . . auf der dvd wurde unter anderem das original bildformat von 4:3 mal wieder zu 16:9 aufgezoomt, sodaß wirklich mächtig viel vom bild fehlt :( man wird dann noch betrügerisch in die irre geführt, weil im menue kann man wählen, ob man fullscreen 4:3 oder lieber widescreen sehen möchte. die beiden bilder zum jeweiligen bildformat vermitteln einem tatsächlich, daß man bei der widescreen version rechts und links mehr vom bild sieht als bei der fullscreen version. ABER das ist nur lug und trug, man sieht nur einen 16:9 ausschnitt von der 4:3 fassung :( seht oben meine kundenbilder die ich zur verfügung stelle.P.S. es sind beide versionen auf der dvd, sowohl die original 4:3 als auch die aufgezoomte 16:9.das ist positiv und sollte auf jeder dvd/bluray so sein.

Perfectlong wait time

The video quality is very poor, it even starts off shaky...clearly a pirated copy.

This is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. And that's saying a lot. It was so over the top, so exaggerated, you couldn't help but laugh your tail off. I had to buy it again so that one of my good friends could get as much enjoyment out of it as I did. I use to watch it at least once per week---and you know what, I still laugh like I've never seen it before. My kids tell me I am crazy, but that's all right. Halle Berry is the bomb! Both funny, sweet and beautiful. And her chubby, cute and funny sidekick Natalie Desselle is full of talent. Talent. TALENT! I hate to say this, but if she were a white girl, her career would have BLOWN up by now. It's sad. Buy it! See it! and laugh your tailfeathers off! I can guarantee that a 'bad mood' won't be anywhere in the room while watching this.
