So I genuinely love how comfortable this feels. It's not as thick as the other ones I have but it holds off the cold quite well. I totally would recomment. It fits great and doesn't make your chin feel pressured.

This Balaclava Winter Mask was got specifically for camping and hiking during winter season. It’s lightweight. It’s easy to breathe. It fits a bit snug on my head (despite of getting the largest size), but it’s still ok as the material has some degree of elasticity. It could be worn in several different ways what it’s a plus. You could completely cover your face (just leaving expose your eyes), you could drop the material covering your nose and mouth but keeping your head covered or you can wear as a neck gaiter. It feels soft inside. It's made of a kind of fleecy material inside. It seems to work well, keeping my face, neck and head warm. I’ve already washed it and no problem.

Superior to a traditional woollen balaclava with added versatility in how to wear it. Material is good quality, soft and stitching is strong, secure and reinforced in places.The material has an elasticated fleece feeling when wearing it and feels very pleasant and comfortable to wear, it does keep me warm when cycling under the helmet and the material thinness is key to wearing comfortably under the helmet. When wearing full face covered, the mouth area is of a different material tot he rest of the helmet, there is a mesh and a patterned nose piece which maintains a soft grip on the nose and stops it falling down, whilst the mesh allows breath to escape without wetting and soaking the fabric to avoid chafing and chapping of the skin. The face mask itself is on a separate strap-type construction, still fully stitched to the rest of the helmet, but allowing it to be pulled down without deforming the rest of the shape and exposing other parts of the head- this is a great design feature and it's constructions means that over the ears is effectively doubled material wise and gives better insulation.In addition tot he normal balaclava styles of wearing , there is enough movement in the material to allow it to be pulled back and covering only the neck, the hem of the helmet is formed over the shoulders and deeper at the front and back, avoiding gaps between the clothing causing a chill w hen out and about in the chill winds.Feel this is well made and does give some good protection , it however isn't necessarily of extreme weather resistance, but good for most UK uses, happy with both the quality and performance .

The balaclava is made of quite thin material and not really warm when worn on its own, Worn under a hat, ski or motor bike helmet as an additional layer, it would probably be suite effective.
