My daughter loves it
My daughter is 12. She is already a very good piano player but wanted something else more mobile to play. I bought this because of the price and the fact that it had all she would need just to get started and if she wanted it to look better/nicer she could 'pimp' it herself. I have to say that she does love it. She could play it almost immediately (she gets music, chords etc that she needs from her ipad) and soon had her playing chart hits on it including Katy Perry and Kate Nash. I must agree that it does fall out of tune but she does not find this a problem - she just quickly retunes it, job done! Ukulele's are now becoming very popular and fashionable as a instrument to play in school as they are quite easy to play and are small to carry around and are cheap to buy. If you want to have a look at some fab Ukulele playing then check out the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britian on You Tube playing Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights - brill! This is not too expensive and obviously for the price it is not going to be top of the range but it is a good solid starter outfit and my daughter gets alot of enjoyment out of it.

A fabulous ukukele. Why pay more?
I collect and play old ukuleles and banjo ukuleles from the 1920s onwards. I bought this uke because my mum started playing and I gave her my practice one so needed something cheap and cheerful to replace it. These ukuleles are not well set up from the factory and so I set about lowering the nut and bridge, adjusting the action and fitting some quality fluorocarbon strings. I have to say it sounds and plays beautifully. A real joy to own. Tonight I dug out my expensive 1945 Martin soprano and the VUK20 beats it hands down.It just goes to show you don't need to spend a lot of money to get a great sound. With a little time and effort you can make small adjustments to suit your style and it will not disappoint you.It is a little heavier than the more expensive ukes but the plywood with mahogany veneer is a solid construction and although I hate the look of geared tuners on ukuleles I have to admit they are leagues ahead for fine tuning plus they keep it in tune better after the strings settle down.In the end it all boils down to the sound and I really won't hear a word against it on that front. I have spent thousands of pounds over the years on musical instruments and I'm almost ashamed to realise a 25 quid uke beats a 500 quid classic but that's just the truth.Get one of these now and don't forget to practice. After all, the magic isn't in the instrument but the fingers of the one who plays it.

Brilliant first ukulele
A solid little ukulele. Was enough to make me fall in love with ukulele's and go on to purchase more expensive models. The strings that were on it were poor, but it's very cheap to replace these with some higher quality ones and the increase in sound quality was great. Sure people are going to moan it's going to go out of tune often in the early days, but replace the strings and buy a decent tuner and this is hardly a problem, and after a while it will settle nicely.A good, if not amazing uke, very good for the price.

This is WONDERFUL!!!
And for the price, it's an exceptional piece. It's got a beautiful finish, in a beautiful shade of tan. I bought it for my 2 year old and he mostly uses it at church while the band are playing as he loves to worship too. Since he was bought a leapfrog toy guitar for his 1st birthday, he's loved to 'rock out' to any music playing, or join in if he sees anyone with a guitar, and I figured this would be a good starter instrument for him.Since it's a real ukelele, once it's been tuned a few times, the strings will hold their tune. My hope is that one day Elijah will want to actually learn to play it properly, which he wouldn't be able to do with a toy guitar. I've noticed that toy guitars go for around the same price as this ukelele, and the reviews on those aren't as good. This has excellent reviews, and with good reason. My boy also hasn't noticed that this only has 4 strings, not the 6 a guitar has - and in my opinion, it doesn't matter, because this will probably make it easier to learn when he's a bit older. It's been dropped a few times, but hasn't chipped or anything, it's made really well and people often comment on how nice it is.His friends at church and playgroups love it too, always wanting to have a strum, and since we started taking it with us to church, some other toddlers have been bought toy guitars that look similar, but they don't sound anywhere near as nice as the sounds that emit from this ukelele and they look cheaper and have broken easily. One little boy's guitar has no strings now (not that it bothers the toddlers of course) but Elijah's ukelele is still in the same condition as when we bought it months ago.I am a very happy customer!

Great for the £££
I bought this ukelele having never played a musical instrument before. Being an absolute beginner with no musical background I can't fault this ukelele at all, great price, it feels well built, looks good and I am sure more expensive ukelele's sound better (you get what you pay for and all that) but for learning to play on I can't see how you would need anything more than this particular instrument. I Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking at buying something to learn to play on or just wanting to play for a bit of fun.Comes with a plectrum, tuning pipes and a nice case/bag.Just a small word of warning tho, the strings do need re tuning quite regularly (less and less the more you use it) and the tuning pipe thingys that this ukelele comes with aren't much help to someone like me who is a bit tone deaf. So for anyone in the same boat as I was it might be worth buying an electronic tuner aswell??? I got around this by downloading an electronic tuner on my iPhone ;pHappy strumming everyone !!

Buon acquisto ma...
Si scorda con una facilità imbarazzante, in particolare una chiave non regge assolutamente l'accordatura. Acquistato come regalo.
