Blended Taper at Home — Easier Than You Think
Like a lot of people, I was looking for ways to cut expenses while I focus on a major career goal, in my case, preparing for the CPA exam. I was spending roughly $60 per haircut every two to three weeks, which adds up to around $1,400 a year. I decided to take matters into my own hands. I picked up the 247 Groomed Self Haircut Kit alongside the Suprent Pro clippers and a 3-way 360 trifold mirror and got to work. First haircut — surprisingly good. I followed a YouTube tutorial from start to finish and was genuinely impressed with the result. Second haircut I got overconfident, skipped the tutorial, and paid the price. Lesson learned. What makes this kit stand out is how it simplifies the technical parts of a haircut that usually trip people up. Getting a well blended taper is one of the hardest things to pull off on yourself, but the guide makes it manageable because you can physically move it as you switch between cutting combs. That flexibility is what allows you to blend naturally from one length to the next without harsh lines. It sounds simple but it makes a significant difference in the finished result. The neckline shaving template is equally impressive. Getting clean neckline edges is where most DIY haircuts fall apart. The template removes the guesswork completely and gives you a consistent, professional looking line every single time. The kit feels well thought out, everything included serves a purpose and the quality holds up with regular use. Nothing feels cheap or disposable. For anyone serious about maintaining their own hair long term, this is the organizational backbone that makes the whole system work. With a little patience and the right guidance from YouTube and TikTok have made learning this skill very accessible, the 247 Groomed Kit helps bridge the gap between beginner mistakes and consistent results. If you're on the fence about cutting your own hair, this kit gives you the structure to actually get good at it. The learning curve is real but short, and this makes the whole process significantly more manageable. Highly recommended as part of a complete DIY haircut setup.

Extremely helpful!
Very helpful tool to have! Once my barber retired a few years ago, I was left in the dark and found that Barbers these days are charging $50+ and still expect a tip. Yeah, call me cheap if you want. I don't see the value in that price. After a few of those and not even feeling the same connection I had with my OG barber (hard to feel connected when you're getting ripped off), I explored cutting my own air. Happy to find that it's fairly easy. A little cringy at first of course because....we'll youre cutting your own hair. You of course don't want to mess up but It was really easy. Only thing was it took me forever because of A)being nervous, and B)it's a bit hard to get the back done quickly. This item solved that. I can cut my own hair in about 15-20 minutes while taking my time and being careful.

Helpful Guide for DIY Cuts — Works well
I picked up this 247 Groomed self haircut kit to make cutting my own hair a bit easier, and it definitely helps. It gives you a guide for shaping the back and cleaning up lines, which takes a lot of the guesswork out—especially if you’re doing it yourself with a mirror. It’s pretty simple to use and makes it easier to get a more even result compared to going in blind. That said, it’s not going to do everything for you. There’s still a bit of a learning curve, and you need to take your time to get it right. Overall, it’s a helpful tool if you’re cutting your own hair and want cleaner results. Just expect to get better with it the more you use it.

Its alright. Great Idea/Concept.
Precisely 3.5 STARS. After commencing the journey of cutting my own hair its alright. At first impression, it seemed phenomenal, but as I used it over time I started to notice the flaws. It's a great idea to have a headband like this to go off of, especially with a haircut like mine that involves a weight line blend. The main issue I have with it, is that if you are going for a high line/fade, it LOVES to start slipping upwards. This will cause you to lose the original intended spot of your line. The second issue I have is that the back alignment piece that attaches. Again great idea, but unless you don't have an occipital bone on the back of your head, the part were it attaches to the band cause a lever point, which causes the back alignment piece to be tip UPWARDS and creating sort of a 'U' instead of straight ACCROSS ear-to-ear, again because of that lever point. However, this headband does serve as a great tool to go off of for lines on the sides of the head at least. It might be better for you if you plan on going for a medium or low fade line.

A Comprehensive Take on the New Haircut Tool
Navigating the world of self-haircut tools, I recently tried out this new product, and I'll do my best to share my insights without overwhelming you with details. One standout feature is its practical design. Unlike other tools, this one addresses the size dilemma with fade bands. Previously, I struggled with bands that were either too small or too big, making it challenging to maintain a secure grip as I moved them across my head. With this tool, that issue becomes a thing of the past. It fits just right, eliminating the wrestling match with bands, and the best part – no awkward positioning over my nose and ears like other lining up bands. A small victory that makes the whole process smoother. The inclusion of a neckline shaving template adds to the tool's appeal. It's like having an all-in-one grooming companion. This multipurpose functionality means I don't need to clutter my space with various gadgets. I recently used it on my 10-year-old nephew, and it worked surprisingly well for him too. The lineup tool reaches below the ears level, eliminating guesswork and ensuring a neat finish. It's a relief for both of us, and I've already found it to be a cost-effective solution, saving more than I initially spent on it. In my experience, this tool has proven itself so far. If you are patient with it you can save a lot of money.

Wouldn’t recommend
Wouldn’t recommend. Overpriced and difficult to use. Even when you set it up, the lines they think are appropriate aren’t, and the neck line attachment just isn’t a good application. Waste of money. Buy a quality mirror and practice makes perfect.

Brilliant If Pricey
Brilliant, just what I needed to keep my neckline tidy, it makes it incredibly simple - takes about a minute to get a perfectly straight neckline. The device stops you trimming any hair you don’t mean to, and it keeps my long hair safely out of the way I also use the band to trim my sides of my head - I only take a bit off above my ears so it doesn’t stick out when I take my glasses off! It’s easier to use if you have one of the 360 degree mirror sets - being able to see what you’re doing helps, although I find looking through multiple mirrors makes it confusing when directing the clippers, I just use them to do the sides, and check my handywork on the neckline after. I thought the items a little pricey for what they are - basically a silicon band and a piece of curved plastic, but they’re going to save me a fortune in haircuts so their value outweighs their cost. Fantastic device, two thumbs up 👍🏼👍🏼
