Alternative suggestion turns into favorite product.
This pasta is what I've been looking for. Remembered from my childhood pasta that held it's shape even if overcooked but nothing I found in the stores came close to it. What comes out of the store theses days when overcooked will turn mushy and fall apart into pieces. Even fully cooked this macaroni stayed true to it's shape and didn't turn mushy. This macaroni also tastes great. My Mac & Cheese dishes will be forever improved in presentation, quality and taste. TIP: This macaroni does produce a lot of starch so I'd caution to rinse several times before adding to the final pot for cooking. Can't say enough about this macaroni. I love it.

2nd fav vs DeCecco pasta. Love it.
wonderful, I caught myself even eating a few dry, which I never do, i'm not a hard candy, or hard shell type of person. they cook easily, I use 8 stage R/O water system for drinking and cooking, (not steaming), and the shells do nicely, sometimes I add a little olive oil and salt to the water to prevent sticking and to prevent boil over. It's a habit, not saying you will need to do such. Anyway the pasta works well with almost any sauce you can think of such as light garlic with light cheese of choice, and black pepper with olive oil, or marinara, or a recipe right on the bag. Good stuff. Comes in a case of 12. (4 stage R/O) with first stage micron filter, second stage carbon, 4 stage R/O, 7th stage carbon, 8th stage micron, 9th stage UV-C bulb.Second carbon stage is for added taste, and micron filter prevents particles from the carbon filter passing through, and the UV-C lamp kills any bacteria that could be present in the filter system. The waste water from flushing the system goes into a separate drain which goes into a reservoir, which I pump out of and water the trees in the back yard.

Just like the old days in NewYork.
Fast cooking time, great tasting pasta. Holds your sauce in place beween the spokes, for a better taste experience. Hard to find in most groceries.

Great value pasta. We buy it by the case.
How many packages of DaVinci Pasta Short Cuts Penne Rigate have we consumed at our house? Can't say, we have lost track. Several cases over the past few years. Dozens of packages. There are of course differences between pasta brands, and although no one is going to confuse this with Giuseppe Cocco gourmet hand made pasta, and other brands extruded through bronze molds, this is still very good pasta for the money. There are worse dried pastas selling for more. DaVinci Pasta Short Cuts Penne Rigate is a solid value, especially by the case. No complaints here. RECOMMENDED.

Larger and Thicker than expected.
This is really good stuff, but much thicker and larger than I was expecting. After cooking it was hard to tell from the regular size shells. And it was way too thick for salad, which is what I really wanted it for. It is really good quality, but when they say small, you have to understand that that is a relative term.

More than satisfies my current addiction to wagon wheel pasta!
I've bought other brands of dried pasta over the years and admit I was kinda indifferent to name brands over cheap store brands. But finding this particular pasta shape in my area in stores was difficult! Being on sale didn't hurt this brand in getting my attention to try them out. But the flavor and texture really sold me to check out the rest of their pasta offerings! I'm a happy pasta hound with a prepper stash of wagon wheels on her shelves! Thank you for a great product! P.S. these wagon wheels are larger than my mini wheels I managed to buy locally... Double thrilled!

Really Great Pasta!
I love the DaVinci Pasta! These Sea Shells are my absolute favorite pasta shape for sauces. They are not too small but they are not the huge ones either. I prefer them cooked al dente. They are just a perfect "bite size" to hold lots of yummy sauce! This pasta is so good that I even eat it plain or with a tiny bit of real butter & sprinkling of various fresh grated cheeses. I can't find these, or any of the DaVinci pastas in our little rural stores, so thank goodness Amazon.com carries them! I got them for $19.48 with the Free Super Saver Shipping. My order was packaged perfectly & the pasta arrived in great condition! I highly recommend this product!Update: 09/22/2015 - OUCH! The price has totally skyrocketed and I can't get these on my Sub & Save any more! This is still wonderful pasta but... I can not afford this very high, jacked-up, price of $35.03 for a case of 12 bags! What Happened???

DaVinci Pasta Short cuts, Penne Rigate 16 oz bags.
I never realized there could be such a difference in the flavor, cooking time and texture of noodles. I love to cook with these, I have used them in green salads and soups and even pasta salads. I place a little virgin olive oil and mix this while placing them in covered containers in the fridge... It seems when I have them cooked and waiting for me, I will add them to just about anything. I even mixed them in an omelet along with other veggies and it is healthy and helps fill you up without using toast and butter. Make the omelet and add a few slices of fresh tomatoes on your plate and it will take care of any cravings you have. I love any noodle dishes and could even eat them on a sandwich, so I have to give them a five star review.
