Easy to install
The antitheft device was very easy to install. I am still able to pick up the generator without any interference from the device. It fits well and I’m pleased with its construction.

The weakest security is the plastic handle. This helps with the deterrant theft.
I have two of the EU2200i inverters. Even with strong 5/8 Brinks cables it is a blink of an eye to cut the plastic handle. These will armor plate those handles mitigating the risk as a deterrent.Of course the real mitigation is to lock them up inside at night (which I do). I still use the brinks cables and lock when stored to a 1/2in steel anchor.Yes, nothing is perfect, especially with today's battery cutting tools. But, the is way better that not doing it.

Fits Perfectly But Security is Questionable
The bracket fits perfectly and was easy to install. I have some concern about how "secure" it is since it comes with "tamperproof" bolts that require an Allen wrench with a hole drilled in the center of the wrench so it will fit over a protruding pin on the mounting bolt that prevents the Allen wrench from engaging the hex opening. From what I have heard, these type of Allen wrenches are commonly available so that reduces the security significantly. This bracket would be much better if it had a part that wrapped around the generator handle and had an eye that protruded through a slot in the other piece of the bracket that could be secured with a security padlock.Better than nothing as far as security but could be better.

Honda Generator theft deterrent bracket
What a simple component to deter someone from hack sawing through the plastic handle. Product came with high security screws and the tool to install the screws. My best guess is the finish is black powder coated, but the process is difficult for me to tell, it just really looks good. Seller delivered ahead of schedule and the product was better than the advertisement. We are very pleased with the quality and the service.

Fits EU2200ITAN1.
Fits EU2200ITAN1 generator, but I had to bend the ends inwards with a crescent wrench (took 5 seconds).

I had to put it on backwards!
I had to put it on backwards! The instructions (which I had to read with a magnifying glass) say the following:"Place the bracket in the generator so that the wide end of the bracket is toward the gas cap (w/shorter tab)."Here's the rub: the wide end of the bracket has the LONGER tab.The bracket is wider on the end with the gas cap because the gas cap is wide, and the bracket needs to account for this. Presumably, the other end has the longer tab in order to protect the back portion of the handle (since it is more exposed). Having the long tab in front potentially interferes with the operation of the gas cap. Fortunately, I was able to slide the bracket back a little bit to keep this from happening. Of course, the rear portion of the handle is not as well protected as it could be.I was tempted to bend the flanges on the bracket to confirm to the shape of the generator, but I figured that that could keep me from returning the product if I chose to do so.How many of these things did they make? If they followed their own directions, they would have discovered the flaw on the first one!

Multiple fabrication errors - Do not buy
My first impression was the security bracket kit seems well made. But I soon changed my opinion when trying to attach it to my new EU2200i. First, the bracket is supposed to be attached with the small tab at the fuel filler end. This end is supposed to be the wider one, but was actually made so it was the narrower end. Second, the plastic bushings are supposed to go through holes in the handle, but the holes are too small, so they do not fit. Third, the screws are supposed to slip into the plastic bushings, but the inside diameter in one of the bushings is too small for the screw to fit. I tried reaming it out, but was unsuccessful since I don’t have metric drill bits, and the closest inch bit was too small. So, I figured with 3 stupid mistakes on something so simple, and no quality control on the manufacturers part, why bother. I am returning it and will attempt to get one directly from Honda. I should have read the 1 and 2 star reviews, as most of these problems are mentioned there.

Peace of mind
Easy to install if the stars align. Be prepared to do a little metal manipulation to get the holes to line up. A large crescent wrench will do the job. FYI, only the short side of the allen wrench works on the screws.
