does the height spec include the handle on the top?

The fan has a 20" blade the metal box it sits in is 21" square. Sitting on the floor and measuring to top of the handle is 23". This is the best of the many box fans I have owned. It moves a lot of air and I have run it for hours a day for over five years and it still works well.

How long can the fan stay on? I want to leave it on for several days to dry out the dirt under the house.

I sleep with the fan on all night and then I have a dog that sits in the same room most of the day so I leave it on all day for him. So I would say I've had this fan running constantly with maybe 15-20 min. breaks per 24 hrs. Have never had a problem with it. This is really my most favorite fan I've ever bought.

Does this fan have a three prong cord?

Yes, this box fan does have a two prong one ground rod plug.

The fan pictured has square cut-outs on the side. Will the fan sent to me have these cut-outs so I can mount into a fan stand?

Mine did. Though this fan is larger than the standard off the shelf box fan. You should look into their stand if you haven't done so. Also, the blades are different (skinnier) than the picture.
