It has all you need. It comes with these wooden blocks. My 12-year old was able to carve a (sitting) golden retriever with it --- seems like a quality kit to me. The only issues that I have is the gloves. They don't have non slip surface on the Palm side of the hand. The gloves maybe cut resistant but you can still stab yourself.
