The foam feels different than the one that came with the vacuum. The original was soft and dense. This one is firm and feels a bit 'cheap'. The filter element seems fine. Enhanced the suction and reduced vacuum odor. The real culprit of odor came from the hose, to which you cannot clean. Major design flaw. I did call Shark, they sent me a new one and boom, all odors gone.
