The plug is removable so should be fine for putting through a hole

Hi it may have 13amp fuse ( = to 3 kilowatts) in the plug, which may be replaced with a lower amp, the surge is to safe guard finer electronics from Mains fluctuations. Yours Brian

are there holes on the back of the row of sockets to allow it to be easily fixed/hung on a wall with screws?

Yes. Mines is mounted on wall using the holes at the back.

Can you turn off the led indicator without turning off the extension?

Every socket on the extension has its own on/off button. So you can switch off just a specific socket. The led green indicator is on.it is not so bright. Yo cannot switch off indicatir without taking the main extension from the main plug. I hope this helps
