Park Tool BBT-79 Bottom Bracket Tool

This is a perfect tool, simple no frills works time and again, what I would class an investment tool, well worth the money

Some of the reviews I read on line reported this tool was poor quality and did not work. I had no issues removing a manufacture fitted DUB BB. The tool seems pretty robust and up to the usual Park Tools standard. As with most BB tools, you need to take care to ensure the socket sits square over the BB cup and stays that way while force it put through the socket wrench.

Quality tool, removing a Dub bb would be impossible without this, just need to ensure you maintain pressure on the tool while using it

A Quality product but expensive for what it is

Bought this having snapped in half the plastic tool that came with the bottom bracket and worried that the BB was well and truly stuck. Took seconds to remove the BB with this. Seating is very good, no slippage.

Perfect fit, gripping perfectly and distributing the force so no marks are left on the cups. The knurled edges are a nice touch for we hand tightening to start.

As per usual, beautifully made Park Tool BB socket, only let down in finish was the wonky sticker. Nicely machined, used on SRAM DUB, for use with 3/8" drive ratchet / wrench. This (at time of buying) was £30, very expensive for it's size and alternatives like Ice Toolz M097 are half the price.**Edit** worked well for removal and re-fit of SRAM DUB BB up to 50kN. When overtightened by mistake (turns out torque wrench doesn't 'click' /work on reverse thread), it has now failed by partial loss of the lugs/notches and the 3/8 socket hole is deforming at the corners. I am going to try the Icetoolz M097 as above, notably that has a 1/2 drive socket hole, so hopefully will be able to hold higher torques. I've reduced the rating, it seems to work fine for lower torques, but for removing a stuck / seized BB, look elsewhere.

Compact and good quality you’d expect from Park tools

You get what you pay for and in this case you get a lot more. I wasn't sure which bb tool to but for my SRAM cups, so I called Park Tool and they put me in touch with one of their tech's. I gave him the make and model and emailed him a pic. He quickly identified which one to buy and sent me a link to their video on how to remove and disassemble. Needless to say it saved me a lot of time and agitation. I changed out my crankset and bearing cups in under an hour like a surgeon. I will never buy a bike tool that isn't manufactured by Park.
