AKT Deodorant Balm, SC.03 The Onsen, 50mL/1.76 Fl Oz, All Genders

Shouting from the rooftops, “THIS ONE WORKS”! I’ll just be vulnerable and say, I struggle body odor. I’ve tried almost all of the aluminum free “healthier choice” deodorants and they do not work on me. I actually went back to my aluminum deodorant, and my husband came across this one. He mentioned it to me and I was really skeptical. I was certain it would not work for me on day. One of using this new one I did smell a tad bit of odor, but after getting through day one I’m good, odor free! This one works! Keep in mind it will not keep you from sweating necessarily, and it does stay a tad damp in your armpit. It has not stained any of my clothes so far. It’s easy to apply a little goes a long way.

I kept seeing ads for AKT deodorant, and after reading reviews, I was a little skeptical, but also intrigued. So I got a sampler pack, and decided that I liked this one so much I'd buy the big tube. Then my husband tried it, and now it's all we both use! First the scent: I don't usually use anything scented, so it was an adjustment to start using this. It is a very unique scent, and you are either going to love it or hate it. I love it! (Some of their other scents are nice, and some are a big thumbs down.) Second, the application - you squeeze a pea-sized blob on your finger, and then split that in half and rub it under your arms with your fingers and hands. Some people may not like doing that, but it doesn't bother me at all, so I'd say thumbs up on the ease of application, and I like that I'm not paying for a big plastic applicator that's going into a landfill. Some have complained that the texture is a little gritty, but again, it's a matter of taste, and it doesn't bother me at all - some of the scents are grittier, or thicker and harder to squeeze out of the tube - I highly recommend, if you end up using this, that you spring for the nice key they offer that makes it easy to squeeze every bit out of the tube. Now the most important part. IT WORKS! I go through phases where sometimes I hardly have any underarm odor at all, and then suddenly it's pretty bad for a while. This deodorant prevents B.O. and keeps it away. Working from home, and at the advice of a dermatologist because of dry skin, I sometimes don't need to shower every single day, and AKT lasts - I can go two days without reapplying without worrying. So even though it seems a little pricey, one tube lasts two of us a looooong time, so in the end it's way cheaper than most other brands! I love that there is no aluminum in the ingredients, too. Many deodorants burn my sensitive skin, but this hasn't bothered me at all. Bottom line: Works great, smells great, price (in the long run) is great.

It's truly a luxe, high-performing product that delivers on its promises—but the aluminum tube is frustrating to use, and the tiny cap is too easy to lose, making it feel like the packaging didn’t live up to the premium inside.

This is the BEST natural deodorant out there. I've used natural deodorants my whole adult life and largely made my own for over a decade (baking soda, coconut oil, essential oils). My homemade deodorant worked great, but left oil stains and burned a bit after waxing or shaving. AKT deodorant doesn't leave any oil stains, works incredibly well, goes on smoothly, and smells wonderful (I've tried the dark purple and the orange - partial to the purple). I can't imagine switching brands and I don't even mind that it gets a little firm by the end, I just cut the tube open and scoop it out until it's gone.

Discovered this brand in England. Was told how it was created by people in the London Theater district and used by performers in London and New York... and by popular celebrities while on stage. And let me tell you a group of us tried this during a crowded extremely hot summer celebration and each one of us didn't stink or sweat profusely... if at all! Soooo glad I could get this on Amazon. Bought all the different scents! Love them and am giving them to friends and family to try... have only had happy responses from each person 😊

Great product! Lasts for over eight hours.

Love the product, but not this particular scent. The smell and product are a bit harsh. I realized after the fact it has soy, which I am allergic to so that might have been why it irritated my skin. I ended up buying the hay fever scent from them directly on their website, which seems to be the only formula without soy. Scent is much more gentle and less irritating to my extremely sensitive skin. I brought this to Europe with me and it travels very well. I love the fact that you apply with fingers so it rubs in well and doesn’t stain clothes. You can also apply a little more without contaminating the dispenser. Highly recommend buying their little tool for getting all the product out of the container much like you’d use on oil paints. If they don’t continue Hay Fever I will have to switch products.

I was not able to find an ingredient list for this product in the Amazon listing so I went to the product website. Pros: 1.Smells good 2. Deodorizes all day (not 24 hours) Cons: 1. The packaging is good in theory, but horrible in practice. Immediately upon folding over with the key, a tiny tear occured right near the crimp. There is now a leak at the very bottom of the tube. The material used for the tube is too delicate for this application. 2. Main deoderizng ingredient is baking soda, which causes it to be gritty and irritating and gives it that "homemade" deodorant smell. 3. Does not prevent perspiration at all. I immediately and consistently sweat right through this product. 4. The diatomaceous earth used to help prevent moisture only causes more grit and irritation. One use for DE is as an insecticide because it has microscopic sharp edges that penetrate an insect's exoskeleton and cause the insect to dehydrate and die. The DE itself has little to do with the actual dehydration. It is a naturally occurring event related to disrupting the moisture barrier and allowing moisture to escape. The same sharp edges that can cut through keratin don't seem ideal to be rubbed into skin, especially the delicate areas that this product is made for. Conclusion: This product felt very abrasive during application. It left delicate areas irritated and uncomfortable. The seller uses a dramatic origin story to hype sell an inferior product. The product did not perform as promised. I am very disappointed. Returned.

I've tried every deodorant/antiperspirant going, and never found one that worked completely. Some worked well but made me smell weird, whereas other made me smell lovely, but let me down. I cannot remember how I found out about this but it is soooo good. Pros: it is human, and planet friendly, residue free, doesn't harm your clothes, and can be used anywhere on the body, including the face, and underboob sweat is a thing of the past. That said, it is unisex, so you can share the same product. It smells lovely but not overpowering, (Onsen (purple tube) is my go-to), it also comes in fragrance free, it's easy to apply, it keeps you fresh and dry, and the tube last for a good 6-8 weeks depending on how often you reapply. A 'pea' size dollop is honestly all you need. There are no lasting, unpleasant side effects either that you can get from 'professional' products. Cons: It can make you a bit itchy but just wash off and use less next time, and you'll definitely need 'The Assistant' which is a tube 'key' because the tube is hard to squeeze using your hand. These keys are available anywhere tho, so not really a 'con'. I love it. Finish the tube and place in the recycling. What's not to love?! It might not be for all, and it could be called pricey, BUT, having something that actually works, is worth its weight in gold. I will definitely continue to buy this 🙂

Before AKT I battled sweaty and smelly armpits for my entire adult life. Honestly I don’t even think about it any more. This is truly the best deodorant ever - and I’ve tried a lot of them!! As a sweaty girl, I’ve really struggled to find any deodorants that will keep both the smell and sweat away. AKT isn’t even advertised as antiperspirant but I get NO sweat marks using this at all - which no other deodorant has succeeded at. Not Mitchum, not the Dove 92hr one, not even men’s deodorant has worked but AKT is amazing. I used to use the Orange one but have moved onto the Dark purple one (can’t remember the name sorry) and I prefer this scent personally. It has never stained my clothes although you do get the typical white residue on your clothes if you aren’t careful putting them on. Not as bad as the spray-on ones though. It lasts me pretty much all day - the only time I’d top up is if I was going to work out in the evenings or going out somewhere but it really does last all day! If I could throw one idea into the ring it would be that I do wish they had something in the range which was more of a floral fruity sweet smell as that is a preference for me, however the one I use now makes my underarms smell like lavender which I’m definitely not complaining about. I highly recommend getting the little golden key thing to help you get it out of the tube - this makes using it tonnes easier and I can see a few people have complained about it being difficult to get out of the tube. This is one piece of Facebook marketing that I’m very glad I gave into - I won’t be going back to regular deodorants after this!

i can’t….the smell is awful smell like everything but lavender 🤢

This deodorant worked really well when I I was in Thailand and it was 36 degrees and I was sweating so much. I didn’t smell at all. However it will stain your clothes, I wear black clothes and would always have white stains on my armpits. I’d have to be really careful if I was putting clothes on after I put the deodorant on as it will stain your clothes (washes out- just annoying if you wanted to wear that top on the day and it’s got these white smears on it). But I will be repurchasing as I didn’t smell and I sweat loads and I hate it.

I bought this at the start of the the year and I feel like I've really put it through it's paces. I'm a performer (who sweats a lot!) and I've been touring a very active show to some wildly different climates; from the tiny cold Scottish isle of Mull to the south of France in 40 degree heat to very humid Singapore. Of all the natural deodorants I've tried, this it the best at deodorising - of course it doesn't stop the sweat, but it stops me smelling awful, even after many hours of sweating with heat and after running around on stage. I LOVE the smell - I have the purple Onsen one. It's quite strong, but I love this. I'd much prefer to smell of this than BO! And it's not like the fragrance is overbearing after it's applied. You only really need to use a small amount, and it lasts for most of the day. I think the tube itself will last quite a while - I got it in January, and I'm perhaps half way through in July? Oh, and it hasn't left any marks on my clothes. The only thing I've noticed is that extreme temperatures can have an effect on the thickness of the paste. When I was in Scotland, it was snowing outside and fairly cold inside, but not freezing. The paste became very hard to squeeze out! Not impossible, but difficult. Then, in very hot climates, at about 40 degrees Celsius, it becomes very thin and a bit watery, so you need to take care squeezing it out, as it'll flow out very quickly. However, I really haven't minded this at all. Perhaps in order to stay consistent in all temperatures, you'd need to add chemicals - then it wouldn't be a natural deodorant! Overall, it's the most expensive deodorant I've ever bought, but as a sweaty performer, it's a great investment. It's the best of the natural deodorants and I love the strong smell. Packaging looks great too. comes in a nice box. I would even say this would be a great gift for a performer!
