Osprey Stratos 34L Men's Hiking Backpack, Tunnel Vision Grey

I purchased this hiking backpack for my hiking adventures in Wales, Europe. We spent 3 weeks hiking in Wales and I knew I needed a good hiking backpack for day trips. This was the perfect size for me. I had plenty of space for a full change of clothes, a thin down jacket, snacks, a hat and gloves. This bag has straps for walking poles. I absolutely love the ventilation system. This system kept my back dry during long hikes. I also love how the pack is adjustable. I could adjust the pack for my height and while doing so the pack did not feel uneven. The straps on the top of the bag are great because they allow the pack to fit closer to your body. This pack has so many adjustments it’s really perfect. I ended up using the rain cover during one of our hikes when we got caught in the rain. The rain cover was also nice when we went walking under a waterfall. I also like this pack because it can be used as a carry on. I used this pack as a carry on while flying from Atlanta to London. I will not that due to the airspeed ventilation system you wont be able to just cram the pack in any old space. The height is really the height. The zippers were great throughout my trip. They are quality zippers with small straps on them to help pull the zippers in either direction. Osprey packs can tend to be expensive but you can catch them on deals from time to time. They are well worth the money for the functionality you get with their packs. Right out the box you could tell how durable the pack was. Osprey makes some quality products.

I got the 36L and while I was waiting for it I was concerned that it would be too large. Actually it’s perfect. Plenty of room for a day pack and if I go out of town for a week when it’s warm there’s plenty of room there too. In the winter when I’m packing more bulky stuff I carry a 46. I like the compartment on the very back, big enough for maps or a couple of books. Not a computer though if that’s important. It prefers a water bottle that is tall and thin rather than bulky. Nice hip pockets. Very comfortable and lots of adjustments. Very happy.

Love, love, love this backpack! Team Osprey knows what they are doing. This pack changed my entire experience on the trail. I am not an expert hiker yet, but increasing experience out on the trail. This is for day hikes. The comfort is fantastic, the suspension makes all the difference, I never feel the pack on my back. Love all the pockets, including the one for a bladder, and the ones along the waist strap. Zippers are super sturdy with loops that won't come off. My only feedback is that the water bottle pockets on the side (which are deep and stretchy flexible to accommodate a range of sizes) are impossible to reach without taking off the pack, which can be a disincentive for proactively staying on top of your hydration. Still--you will not be disappointed. This pack is worth every penny.

Love it! I have some bigger 50 and 68 liter Osprey packs that are great for hauling lots of stuff comfortably but wanted something smaller that would work as a carry on for flying:) I mainly use backpacks for travel abroad and eventually you gotta have the Mercedes Benz of backpacks lol Got this smaller 34 liter for some months in Asia, and wow can you pack a ridiculous amount into this 34 liter pack! I was able to fit 4 pairs of pants, 4 pairs of shorts, 6 tee shirts, 2 hoodies(one a proper 800 fill down puffer), a rain jacket, plus 6 pair of underoos, toiletries, 2 headlamps, iPad and chargers into this sleek badboy! Thats rolling things up ninja;) Space for everything you need to travel indefinitely:) Could hike your way up to Everest base camp in style and comfort with this lol Top notch quality and design throughout, I love the geometric pattern in the material, too small to show in the pictures but is a nice surprise:) Nice pockets and such for organization! A large toiletries bag fits perfect in the bottom zip area(fits so perfect i put a pic up), suppose you could use the space for whatever but i love having the toiletries not floating about the main. Osprey’s just the best for backpacks!

I’ve put the Osprey Stratos 34L through its paces, and its durability and weather protection are top-tier. A standout feature is the waterproof integrity of the reservoir pouch. I actually experienced a bladder leak during a hike, and the compartment kept the water completely contained, saving the rest of my gear from getting soaked. The integrated rain cover, tucked into the bottom pocket, is another major plus; it’s attached so you can’t lose it, providing peace of mind during sudden downpours. The adjustable torso length makes it easy to find a custom fit, and the overall build quality is exactly what you expect from Osprey. However, there are a few ergonomic drawbacks. I use a 3L reservoir, and when it’s full, accessing the main compartment becomes quite difficult. The top-loading design feels cramped with a full bladder, making it a struggle to get gear in and out. Additionally, I would have preferred more substantial padding on the waist belt. On longer treks, the protection feels a bit thin compared to other packs in this class. Pros: Extremely durable, waterproof reservoir pouch, attached rain cover. Cons: Difficult main-compartment access with 3L bladder, thin waist belt padding. Overall it is pretty decent I'm still putting it through its paces.

Top feature is the incredible weight distribution of this pack. It essentially hugs your hips and the light frame carries all the load of the pack into the hip belt, so that your legs do the work, not your shoulders or spine. The pack essentially tilts against your shoulders, suspended away from your back by Osprey's fantastic mesh system. I literally felt like I had a small air conditioner on my back because the breeze was continuously able to reach my back while wearing the pack. I carry a 3 to 5 pound mirrorless camera and lens on a clip on one of the shoulder straps and I can barely notice it's there because the weight is all transferred through the pack to the hip belt. The zippers and materials are all high quality. The only tiny drawback on the zippers was the small pouches on the hip pack, though well designed to protrude from the hip belt, I could not close the zippers one handed. It's expensive, but that's because you're buying quality.

These smaller osprey bags on sale are quite an amazing deal 🤝🤝🤝 I got the manta 34 cheap too ....love the features, the suspension is a must for me I have to have ventilation or I'll sweat to death 💀

great pack, not to big not too small. carries plenty and light weight. straps are most comfortable I have ever tried. quality is second to none.

私は夏以外の山に毎月2回程度登ります。標高は300～1100メートルで、行動時間は２時間～6時間です。 モンベルのガレナパック20を13年間使っていました。 年齢を経ることによる体力の低下、熊スプレーなどの保険的装備により、重量を感じることが増えました。 ショルダーベルトが肩によく食い込みます。他のザックを探していました。 ストラス24を冬山5時間歩きで使用した感想は次の通りです。 ①重さが分散される ☆☆☆☆☆ ガレナパックを背負うと、その重みは重力よろしく真下の地面に向かう一方で、ストラスを使用すると（ヒップベルトを締めたうえで）、重みが腸骨、腰、背中に分散され、重さをほとんど感じず、ショルダーベルトが肩に食い込みません。ショルダーベルトはザックの背面と私の背中に密着させることに重きが置かれています。ヒップベルトはクッション入で、腸骨を明確に包み込みます。驚いたのは、下山時の膝の痛みが減ったことです。 ②多彩なポケット☆☆☆☆☆ これはよい！と思ったのが前面中央にある縦型ジップポケットです。今まではレインウェアをザックのメインポケットの底に入れていたのですが、このポケットにレインウェアを入れると、簡単に取り出せる。また、最上部のポケットは折りたたみ地図やモバイルバッテリー、財布などが容易に入る大きさで、実に使いやすい。 ③レインカバー☆☆☆ レインカバーは専用の下部ポケットに収納され、下部ポケットと十文字で紐づけされています（写真）。 紐づけされているので、レインカバーをザックに装着しても、強風で飛ばされることはないと思います。 その上で、ガレナパックと比較します。ガレナパックにはレインカバー用の凹ボタンがショルダーベルトに、レインカバーには凸ボタンがあり、これをはめ込みます。また、レインカバーと専用ポケットをプラスチックでカチリと止める仕様です。ガレナパックのレインカバーは稜線の強風でも、吹き飛ばされない強度を持っている。 ストラスの場合、ザックの金属フレームにレインカバーをかぶせるだけです。下手したら、強風がレインカバーを飛ばすんじゃないかと心配性な私は思ったりします。 ⓸背面の通気性☆☆☆☆☆ ガレナパックを背負い続けると、汗が背中に広がり、乾きません。ザックを下ろして、休憩を取る。そのあとにザックを背負う。冷える！冬山なんかではこれが冷たくて仕方ない。 ストラスにはこれがありません。 ザックの背面→10センチの空間→メッシュという構成なので、 背中の汗は乾きます。 ⑤その他 背面の長さを自分好みに調整できます。 チェストベルトに笛が付いています。 ロードリフターストラップがあり、背中とザックを密着させられます。 縦型ジップポケットの真上に小さいジップポケットがあり、重宝します。 サイドポケットの高さは25〜28センチで、ストックやサングラスケースの収納に適してます。 結論☆☆☆☆☆ 購入して、よかった。必要な機能を高いレベルで詰め込んでいて、開発者たちは多分、山登りが好きなんだなと思います。非常に優れたザックです。

Fantastic backpack. I was searching for one that fit me and this one does! Holds way more than I expected. Very solidly built. I tried on many backpacks in stores locally and none of them are the same quality of this one! Buy it!

I've owned several Osprey sacks over the years and as a day sack this one didn't disappoint. The 24Ltr is perfect for my needs for days out in the Scottish Highlands . The side pockets can easily carry a litre bottle each , safe and secure. The frame size can be adjusted to suit the length of your back and the chest and hip straps are made with comfort in mind.

Ich nutze den Osprey Stratos 36L seit einigen Monaten und bin echt begeistert. Für mich ist es der beste Rucksack, den ich bisher hatte. Trotz des guten Volumens bleibt er angenehm kompakt, was ich besonders im Zug oder unterwegs sehr schätze. Die Rückenbelüftung ist hervorragend und der Tragekomfort wirklich top. Auch die Taschenaufteilung ist sehr sinnvoll gelöst, sodass man alles gut verstauen und schnell erreichen kann. Ich bin 186 cm groß und 93 kg schwer, und der Rucksack passt für meine Statur sehr gut. Die Wasserblase habe ich nicht verwendet, das ist einfach nicht so mein Ding. Insgesamt aber ein rundum sehr gelungener Rucksack, den ich klar weiterempfehlen kann
