Renaissance Knight Chess Recreational Classic Strategy Game Set

I was looking for a nice chess set, but not too expensive. The set itself is very nice and I'll rate it better when I get the replacement set. Like I said, the set is really nice, the pieces have some good weight to them. However, three pieces came broken (one leg was broken and the top of two rooks). This is mainly because the metal is soft. Again, however, they were not broken in shipment, I am fairly sure they left the company like this. Which leads me to believe, they need much better quality control before shipping these out. Also, when I contacted the company, they did not have an option to replace the broken pieces. I had to order an entirely new set, which also came with broken pieces.Ok, looks like Amazon combines reviews so I'll add comments here. I received the replacement set in a few days. Sadly, the new set had some broken pieces (top of sword missing, rook tops are bent over). I was able to make a fairly good set (still has some cosmetic issues) from two and returned the bad set.Again, this is a really nice set. I have no complaints with the overall appearance. The piece have good weight. The price to value is decent. Like I said before, I am very disappointed in the quality control of this company. They need to check the pieces before sending them out. Also, they need to have replacement parts. It is a real pain to box this thing up and ship it back.I originally graded this with a four but upgraded to a five. Nice set, make some improvements!

I got this as a gift for my brother. He LOVED IT!!! I opened it at my house first and it was absolute perfection. Nothing was broken or out of place whatsoever. Each peices was packaged with so much care. Love love LOVE this chess set and all the night peices. The board itself was freaking unbelievable!

First of all, the way the seller shipped the item was great for making sure it wouldn't break as it was mailed. The glass board was taped between two huge pieces of styrofoam, the pieces were each individually in a pocket in the styrofoam, and the base was in a bag also taped between another two styrofoam pieces. Overall, I don't think the chess board breaking through transit would be a problem!My opinion of the actual chess board is that it's beautifully detailed and crafted. The base has so many intricate designs, such as broken swords, armor, and dead warriors. The glass board goes on top of the base by putting the four corners of the board onto the castle-like buildings on the four corners of the base. The pieces look beautiful. They are quite tall and hefty.The chess board came with a warning that you have to put it on a hard, flat surface or else it will deform, so upon buying it, you should get a place ready to put it because it's very big and heavy, so you shouldn't lug it around that much.Overall, this is a great item! I definitely recommend it!

We love it. Bought it as a gift and it's a huge hit. The pieces are heavy and well made. Everything was packaged appropriately so nothing was broken. The glass board is prestine and the graveyard of battle weapons is intricate and stunning. I would definitely buy another one.

The product looked nice and was well packaged. However one of the queen for the gold side was bent forward. It did not seem like any damage happened during shipping. If the queen was upright like the silver queen was a 5 star product.

The look and reaction of my boyfriend when he received this on his Bday was worth every penny.It's packaged wonderfully and securely so everything came safely. Each piece has great weight to it and is absolutely gorgeous. We had gone to medieval times and he was eye-balling this set that I couldn't find, so I went with this one.He said this surpassed that set in every way and I couldn't have found a more cooler, more breathtaking set.I can't wait to set it up, it will have its' own place in our home to display all the time.You won't regret your purchase!

This is an awesome chess set. The center of attention for all guests. Kept on display on a dedicated table in living room of large home. Other complaints about glass not fitting on the towers must not have read the instructions. The pewter base conforms (bends) slowly by gravity to meet the table underneath it. Therefore, it is self stabilizing and won't wobble. If a tower leans outward and makes the little bench seat for the glass too small, just put a coin under the base at that tower. In a day or two, the base will conform and tilt the tower inwards. The entire set is high quality at a very good price. I will buy more of them as gifts. This set shouts 'class' all the way.

My husband adored his gift. It looks amazing as a centerpiece on our dinner table. Everyone who visits notices it right away and compliments on its uniqueness and beauty. All guests feel enthusiastic to play chess, even beginners. The metal playing pieces are very resilient, even though it is pliable. The board itself is glass, but quite sturdy. The piece that holds it up is so detailed and very heavy. Very well made. Must purchase if u have a chess lover who will appreciate a beautiful gift
