I gotta say, I was actually surprised that this was exactly what I wanted.We have a 4 year old and a 2 year old. We recently decided to go on our first real family vacation and decided on a cruise. Our 4 year old is a monkey... climbing things is her favorite thing to do. And our 2 year old tends to get lost in her own world sometimes and HATES holding our hands. She hates holding our hands so much so that she will forfeit the independence of walking and make us carry her if we try to insist she hold a hand. It’s ridiculous. So for obvious reasons a boat in the middle of the ocean sounded like a winner for us! So right away we knew we needed something to keep the 4 year old close enough but still very much independent... didn’t think she would appreciate a leash. The hand holding apparatus was perfect for her. Upon realizing there were rediculius amounts of child harnesses to choose from for our 2 year old, honestly we just went with the most cost effective one. When I found this 2 pack that had both I was like... no way. There’s a catch. Somethings gonna be made of cheap plastic or the harness isn’t gonna come with the leash or something that would explain the cheap price. Well lo and behold, it arrived on time and was everything I had wanted! The hand coil was even steel inside the exterior coating, to prevent cutting. The harness has a metal hook and metal clasp for attathcing the leash that came with it. And the size was perfect for my 2 year old and had all the right adjustable straps to ensure it’s fitting. The hand holding apparatus was really great in adjusting, we even used it for the 2 year old a couple of times. It adjusts on the child’s side to fit even the tiniest wrists. The Velcro is covered by fabric so there’s no chafing. Really pleasantly surprised by the whole thing. Perfect for us!

I loved . We went to Disney with him and it was very useful. The baby liked this one much more than the ones on the arm

Update: We used the best and it works just fine. It definitely doesn't have the same amount of control as the wrist link. But it does work and I've been able to help pull our 1 year old back up from the ground by the leash and it didn't snap and she was perfectly comfortable. She'll actually bring the vest to us sometimes and ask to wear it around the house.For the wrist link we found it's actually easier on our daughter to put the Velcro around her upper arm. It also gives us a little more control of the direction she goes. It's one we keep in the diaper bag at all times in case we go out anywhere.Seems worth the price. Our 1 year old is very independent and doesn't like having to hold our hands all the time. We tested out the vest at home and she seemed to enjoy it, almost like a kid with a new backpad. The length is just right to let her feel like she is free to roam but close enough for the protective parent to grab them at a moment's notice. The wrist "anti lost" leash also works really well and it's very quick to put on and take off. We used it at our local mall and she loved it. We also got loads of compliments on it. They loved that our daughter was free to explore to her delight but that she was also safe and kept close. I'll update when we're able to take her out with the vest.

I'm only giving three stars since I never used either strap or harness yet. I did the harness which I didn't like because it throws your child off balance but the wrist strap is what I wanted most and it is ok. I could see if the child is strong enough that the hooks on the side of the strap would rip since they are held on by fabric but my two years old never wanted to use it. The wrist strap isn't too long and this could come in handy for children with special needs or big family trips.

I am very happy I ordered this my son doesn't mind wearing the harness it's super cute comfortable and easy to use there is also an easy disconnect of the leash from the harness we can walk around with our little one with ease he gets his little bit of freedom while having to stay close and safe and always in arms reach no running off total safety and control and with no having to bend over holding onto him and killing your back

Maybe I received a defective unit but the harness was falling apart right out of the box. The threads were coming undone and did not feel secure. I ended up returning it.

I bought this for my mother in law as ahe takes care of my son n neice and for her to have these 2 while walking the children makes her feel more comfortable since we live next to a semi busy street.. for the price it's amazing n could sabe a life. I use to think it was funny to see children on leashes like animals but now I have 2 children so I understand. It's a great idea for sitters and parenta in stores on walks. :)
