The Path of Ascension 5

Fun read
An engaging story that was well paced. Plenty of fighting in a tournament if that's your fancy. A little bit of intrigue to set up the plot for future books. Quite enjoyable.

Great book love this series!
I've loved this series from the start and can't wait for book 6. I like that the characters are potentially very strong but still need to work for it. And how they need to think of how others will react if they discover how strong they will become. Love it! Can't wait till the audible version comes out. I own all of them so far. Lol thanks for writing such an enjoyable story.

Intricate wonder
What a remarkable addition to an amazing series. Sure, the timescales of years and decades is frustrating, yet still well paced. This book was tournament based, and done very well. There was much creativity placed in many side characters, and still time was spent developing the world or universe. Amazing work!

Tournament arc, pretty decent unlike I expected
When I read that there would be a tournament arc, I was a bit hesitant. There are very few tournament arcs that I actually enjoyed. In that regards, this volume was a happy surprise for the most part. For one thing, we get a varied amount of conflicts and rarely of characters posturing to one another. The addition of hard limitations and fake identities that are more than just a mask worked well even though I am not a fan of Quill's personality (if that was the MC's true personality I would have dropped the series long ago). The lack of true stakes, which is one reason I am not an overly big fan of tournament arcs, was not too bad here since it was more about interaction with others and character development than fighting anyway.Having said that, by the end of the volume when we get into the solo part of the tournament we do get a lot of fights I just quickly glanced through. I tend to find these fights boring (even more so when there is no stake), and I don't care about knowing whom of the good people are stronger compared to one another. Compared to the page count though this was a small part.Anyway, a fun addition to the series and looking forward to the next one: the dungeon exploration with no backup and a new addition to the team.

love the series
First I’ll start with the cons which there weren’t many.Overall, the character perspective got a little confusing at times.Everything else was great. I love the world building and overall book event. It was a set up for the next book but still well done can’t wait for them to go all out. Great character cast as well

Great continuation
It was a strong book. Some of the fights were a little long and the story jumped around a little but definitely worth the read.

another great addition to the story!
This is one of those series that makes you form theories as to how everything works in its respective canon, and demands you ask questions, it makes me want to go support on Patreon for the sole purpose of being able to ask the author questions like are we gonna get to see Matt Liz and Aster make it all the way to tier 50? If they do, will the story continue? Will we get a whole new adventure in the higher realms? How will time pass once they get into those upper tiers within the story? Will Matt and Liz have kids? What will we do when Aster has to leave at tier 15? What will her human form look like? These questions keep me up at night and April 10th feels like an eternity away to wait for the next book which will hopefully have some of those answers. All in all I can’t wait and have already pre-ordered the next one

A good continuation to a solid story
Its fun, the world and story building are pretty good and mostly internally consistent. For those who slam it, its LitRPG, its not a perfectly edited masterpiece, but it's great for what it is. Looking forward to the next book.

Driving on
This novel world is everything I want it to be. Love a great tournament arc and I was not disappointed. Curious about the spies and where we will see them again. Looking forward to Aster being a bigger contributor again. Super interesting cast of characters leave me wanting more all the time.
