Cat is eating slower
My cat needs to lose some weight. She scoffs her food very quickly.I bought this dish following advice from a cat nutrition specialist. The bowl doesn't come with transition instructions & I only received the instructions for transition via email the day after I received the bowl. I would have appreciated the guidance more promptly as I'd already started using the bowl to feed my cat.Fortunately, the way I instinctively introduced the bowl & my cat was hungry has meant she's not stressed & is enjoying using her new bowl. The only adaptation I've made is to put non slip matting under the bowl as it slides around while she's eating. Most important factor is my cat is happy eating from her new bowl. Her eating is markedly slower: from eating in seconds to taking 15-20 minutes same portion.I'm happy as the bowl is durable, sturdy, easily cleaned & eco-friendly.I'm happy to recommend that other people consider buying this well designed bowl, but wait a day or so until you receive instructions via email.

Does the job!
Previously, when using a normal bowl, our cats would eat all their dry food as soon as it was put down. This bowl is so much better - we can fill it up and they will return to it throughout the day to eat rather than scoff everything at once. Very happy with it and bought two.The only downside is it's pretty tricky to wash up if you don't have a dishwasher!

The cats love eating from this.
One of my cats used to gobble his food (from an ordinary cat bowl) down and then, often, throw up soon after because he’d eaten too fast. This cat maze feeder stopped this happening. I introduced it slowly but putting a little dried food in the front of the maze where the food was easy to hook out and some food in the ordinary bowl next to it. When he’d finished the ordinary bowl he had a go at the maze. I then gradually put less food in his ordinary bowl and more in the maze. He, ( and my other cat who also has her own maze) took to the maze very well. If you use them for dry food they don’t really get dirty. I ,therefore, only clean them occasionally. I fill them with washing up water and brush them with a pastry brush. I then rinse them and leave them upside down to dry overnight. They are brilliant and sturdy. I’m also really pleased that they are made of bamboo and not plastic. They feel like very sturdy plastic.A great buy.

Worth it
Much larger than I expected. However it works well it gives the cat something to think sbout and gives him a challenge. Few places biscuits seem to stick in and don't really gey used by cat, otherwise great.

Good bowl, consider cat size
My greedy little fur ball was eating so fast each morning she was making herself vomit. So we were looking for a bowl that would slow her down. This did indeed slow her down, unfortunately completely. She's very little being half British Shorthair and half Siamese and she was having to reach a paw in to drag the food out so she could eat it. For a bigger cat than our mini mistress this would be perfect. Bit hard to clean but absolutely the way to slow an animal eating... Unless they're too small of course

More a puzzle than a feeder
I bought it for my cat. It's very well made and sturdy and he soon worked out how to hook dry biscuits out but as a feeder it is not very good. Cats can suffer from whisker stress. The raised shapes were too high so he couldn't put his mouth in to feed. I found that only the eyes were the best place to actually feed from..... It is great as a puzzle game toy for a cat or a feed bowl for a dog I think, but not a feeder for a cat.

Too big for my tiny kitten
It was massive

Highly recommended and worth the price.
I absolutely love this product. It is beautifully (and ethically) made and does exactly what it needs to do. I personally disagree with those who say it is too big as for me the whole purpose is for the cat to have the space to work at getting the food out. I have 2 fairly new rescue cats, one of which is a mega pig when it comes to food. I tried putting ping pong balls in his bowl which helped a little but he would still polish his food off within 5 mins. Now it takes him at least 20 minutes if not more. It only took him a couple of meals to get used to the feeder and now he loves it and thrives on the challenge. I try to time it that I am getting my own meals at the same time as this has helped to stop him from being under my feet all the time. Plus he no longer tries to steal his sister's food (she is a proper little lady and takes her time, and self regulates her intake so I still feed her in a bowl).I appreciate that this product may not suit every feline, but for my boy it is proving to be invaluable. It is also very satisfying watching him being stimulated in a more natural way. One little tip is that it does tend to move across the floor but I have pretty much solved this by popping it on the door mat.
