Brilliant!
I do enjoy listening to the radio there is no doubt and I appreciate a good quality sound. I was looking for a small radio with DAB+ and FM and while trawling through manufacturers advertising I found the Roberts Petite 2. Having read glowing reports I decided to give it a go. It arrived on the day I ordered it which is excellent. I eagerly unpacked the radio and had a quick look at the instructions which I found clear and easy to understand. The radio itself is cute, small but perfectly formed and is available in a choice of several colours. It was a doddle to set up including setting radio presets! The quality of sound which comes from this radio is good, no, it's really, really good for something so small. It has a sound which made me think wow, how does something so dinky produce such a big, rich sound like that? I also found it very sensitive and received lots of stations both on DAB and FM. I particularly wanted DAB+ as so many of the new stations only transmit in DAB+. The rechargeable battery was perfect for my needs to...ideal for carrying from room to room and not having to worry about plugging it into the mains. I can also connect a pair of hi-fi stereo headphones to the output socket and the sound is like listening to a full blown hi-fi system! It also features Bluetooth so I was able to send music from my phone to it as well. If I had to nit pick about anything I would say the info screen could have been a little bit bigger. Having said that it certainly isn't a deal breaker for me and with my specs on I can read the text fine. This radio blows me away, it has made me listen to more and more radio stations than I have done in a long time. Perhaps it's the nostalgia trip thing taking me back to listening to the radio under the bed sheets back in the 1960s! You may have guessed by now how much I like it... that's an understatement! Highly recommended!

An amazing little pocket rocket
Initial reaction was that it was much smaller than I imagined, but as soon as I switched on the unit sprang into action by scanning for available stations.. Quality wise this unit is a beautifully designed compact gem of a radio. It isn't flimsy it's a solid piece of kit - and truly portable both in size and rechargeable integral battery that lasts several hours. It has the ability to store favourite channels, and the interface on the front is simplicity itself. And what about the sound I hear you ask - Well, it's better than I imagined for the size of this little box - it certainly isn't tinny - far from it. Considering the size of the unit, it packs an impressive punch - with welcome bass notes and great high end - it's probably what Bose is missing in its portfolio of products - and it would be a damn good competitor to them if they did in my opinion.

The Rolex of radios.
I clumsily knocked a cup of tea over my existing radio and despite drying it out it refused to recharge. So I had to look for a replacement. I had been tempted by the Roberts Revival Petit2 in the past but was always put off by the price. 99 pounds is an awful lot to pay for a small (very small) DAB radio when others at a fraction of the price have exactly the same features. I suppose it's similar to why you would buy a Rolex and not a Timex when they both tell the time! But there's the rub, the Roberts is just a pleasure to behold and use. It's extremely well built, it's quite heavy in the hand and just has a feeling of longevity to it. And it is indeed very petit. The sound is very good for something so tiny, it is clear and substantial in tone. Whilst the laws of physics can't be broken the bass lines can easily be followed albeit not being a bass monster. The stations tune in upon switch on and all seem present and correct. My phone connected via bluetooth without issue. The controls all feel solid and work as they should. Some people have commented that it is confusing that the large rotary knob is not for volume....it is confusing if you use the radio without reading the instruction leaflet. Everything is laid out in the leaflet and is not difficult to learn. The radio is fully portable due to it being rechargeable with a quoted battery life of circa 20 hours. Recharge time is a pedestrian 6 hours but it can be used whilst charging and of course can be used via the mains anyway (cable supplied, charging plug is not supplied). Am I glad I spent so much for this radio? I don't like spending 99 pounds on anything to be honest, BUT it is a pleasure to own and use, it just brings a smile to my face, it's like a little jewel.

Lovely little gem of a radio
I've only had this Roberts Petite 2 radio for a few days, but I'm pleased with it so far. The controls, sockets etc. are shown well enough on the product page, so I won't go into that. My overall impression is that it's a pleasing little design classic. It's tiny, but it has weight to it. The sound is superb, with a "tardis" like quality. When I sit it on top of my desktop monitor speaker, people think they are hearing that. There are a few upgrades that would need to be made, in order for it to be a perfect radio for me... The large knob on the front disappointingly does NOT change the volume, and can not be set to do so. The surrounding four buttons are responsive, but they look and feel cheap. IMHO the quality of the buttons and knob, lets down the otherwise excellent design. Then again, the controls are all easy enough to use, and the volume is certainly reliable, which is often not the case with these light-touch buttons. I'm unusual maybe, in that I just want it to be tuned to one radio station, so the selector knob is something I never use. It'd be nice if this knob could be set to be the volume. I'd say that the radio design is more modelled on a Tolex-covered Marshall amp, than design features of past Roberts Radio models. Having said that, I think they pull it off well, and have come up with a winner. There is no EQ. That's a major minus, for old codgers like me, who'd like to be able to cut the bass and boost the treble, so that speech can be better heard, without a boom. Features I'd like to see on the next model would be wifi, for internet radio, UPnP, an SD Card/USB reader, for MP3s etc. I'd also like to see 2-way Bluetooth, so that it could also be used as a source. I look forward to seeing some of these features on the next iteration perhaps? This really is a nice little gem of a radio however, and I'm certainly pleased that I bought it.

Beautiful quality radio. Recommend!
This little radio arrived today. It’s quality in every sense. The sound quality is excellent and the radio is very easy to use. It has preset settings but these are easily changed. The Bluetooth connectivity is great. It’s small but that makes it more appealing because it fits easily into a small place and can be moved easily when required. It’s very sturdy and the colour is great. I love it and for me it’s value for money because I won’t ever need to buy another radio! Would recommend.

Tiny but feels well-built. Good sound.
Lovely little DAB radio. Has one speaker but the sound quality is great, I use it in the bathroom and it is perfectly fine for casual listening, certainly loud enough. Battery life seems pretty reasonable and it certainly outlasts a Pure radio it is replacing (the Pure has moved to the bedroom and is now mains-driven). Odd menu layout but not much of a problem. Chargeable from USB C and seems to charge quite quickly.

An excellent small travel DAB+/FM/Bluetooth radio
I have added a Revival Petite 2 to our radios at home, so that we have a radio that we can use on our travels as well as in the garden. The Petite 2 is excellent and does the job I wanted with a great sound, especially considering the radio's size. The DAB picks up the SDL/Digital 2 transmissions even though we live on the edge of that multiplex's coverage, and the Bluetooth is great for listening to KWEM, on which Elvis, Johnny Cash and Sonny Boy Williamson were first heard, by using the West Memphis station's downloaded app. Our first Roberts was an LW/MW model with the swivel bottom, so that you could turn the radio to get the best reception, and we also have a Roberts Revival Uno BT and an iStream 3 for use in different rooms at home. All these Roberts radios have strong telescopic aerials. Well done, Roberts, for another great radio, this time in a small package.

Contento per l'acquisto
Ottima ricezione e audio davvero non stancante. La batteria dura tantissimo. Davvero sorprendente date le dimensioni veramente ridotte. Per me, è un si convinto.

Radio Roberts DAB+
