A-Level Biology: AQA Year 1 & AS Exam Practice Workbook - includes Answers: for the 2025 and 2026 exams (CGP AQA A-Level Biology)

The book goes through each topic for year 1. It gives questions for recalling knowledge that doesn't require you to apply your knowledge. There are some exam-styled questions that require you to apply your knowledge towards the end of the workbook but not many.

I'm not sure of the questions are exactly like the exam, so don't depend on lots of content based questions and make sure to revise application a lot as well. Other than that its a good quality and well structured aid for revision.

Good start to revision for the exams, goes through each chapter clearly, mainly re-call style questions, not very many for application but very good for factual recall and for developing understanding of content

Product arrived in good condition; it is a 94-page semi hard cardboard covered booklet. It’s split into 4 four topics: Biological Molecules, Cells, Exchange & Transport and Genetic Information & Variation. These are then broken-down further e.g. in Biological Molecules you have Biological Molecules 1, Biological Molecules 2, Biological Molecules 3 and More Biological Molecules. In addition to these, you have a small section containing mixed questions.Within each of the sections you have a raft of exam style questions and against each is the mark attributed to it. Everything is laid out clearly and there’s plenty of room to write the answers. There are also exam tips allow the way.At the beginning of the book you have a page on “Exam Advice” and at the back are all the answers.This Exam Practice Workbook gives the student plenty of practice on the type of questions they’re likely to face in the real exam.I think this Workbook is pretty good value at £5.81.I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative and useful.

Practice workbook for the Year 1 (AS) of the new A level specification. The questions are clearly marked with grades and all the answers are in the back oft he book. Throughout there are also tips and hints of how to get better marks. The questions are printed on brilliant white paper and laid out in a leisurely fashion - not at all dense. It may seem wasteful and that more questions could be included but a lot of students like this unthreatening layout.You do need to do a lot of textbook questions to supplement these questions and past papers if you want to get top results but it is a good starting place. I think a set of practice papers would have been a useful addition.The books also have a unique code that you can use to view the book online through the cGP site where you also need to set up an account. You can't print off the questions so I don't find the online version very useful.
