After figuring out you have to set this extender in order (see instructions below), I have had this extender have a strong signal down a floor and to the end of the garage (opposite end of house). I wanted to add an extender bc my tablet is used mostly upstairs and the router signal just doesn't seem to have the oomph for everything I connect up here. I have a repeater and another plug in extender on the first floor to cover out to the pool and to the drive but nothing upstairs so this has helped a bit. The most annoying thing is there is drop in signal just whenever. I don't have that prob w/any other devices. It is easily fixed by unplugging, waiting a tad, and replugging. I think one prob is this device seems to be top heavy and so does not stay plugged in well. If I plug in at a downward angle, I seem to have better luck. For the price, one is willing to put up w/a few drops but if you can get a better extender, I recommend doing so.Instructions for setup:It took a few resets but I finally was able to set security.You must logon to this router to set (via laptop, phone) and follow directions for ISP url.This is the order I finally got ISP extender to work securely.Select administration (far right menu)Enter new router name and new p/w; you will have to login again with new credentialsNext, change wireless basic settings:(encrypt) WPA2 PersonalEnter a password unique to the ISP extender (key), saveLast step, change wireless IP setting:Enter the new name you have for extenderInsure WPA2 Personal is selectedEnter the unique ISP extender keySelect your main router SSID and enter the key for your main routerSave, reset, allow the process to complete; your new ISP extender then should be connected, secured, and with internet access.If you want to change things, remember, you have to logon to this extender (under new name).I hope this works for you.

For a long time now I was not allowed to write a review of this product.. No I do not know why and could care less not that I can write one.I am very happy with this product, it does what is suppose to do and does it well.That says it all in my opinion, so goodbye until next time...

The Wi-Fi signal is getting a 3 because it honestly just depends on if it wants to work better or not. I haven't found a way to make it guaranteed to improve signal. So meh.

I installed this in my basement because coverage is horrible there. My wireless printer would drop out constantly. Now it's perfect! 5 bars.You will need basic knowledge of networking to install it. You'll need to set a static IP on a device and connect with a browser and make some configuration choices. If you aren't comfortable with that, you should probably look for something from a mainstream manufacturer.
