Best rod I’ve purchased, I have rods that cost twice as much and this rod is superior. So far, I’ve only used it for surf/inshore fishing where long distance & accuracy is crucial for targeting/reaching structure, channel in/outflows, depths, and schools of bait fish. This rod flexes and casts very, very smoothly for excellent range and accuracy. Even if I had a blindfold on (which I essentially do when I fish at night), I could still tell that this rod casts well just based on feel. It’s excellent on the retrieve as well. Sensitivity that allows you to feel the lure - very easy to immediately know when a curious fish is hitting it (and when it’s hooked any weeds, garbage, whatever). Manipulating the lure movement with light flicks/twitches is effortless. Usually there’s a trade-off between a long casting distance and feel/agility. Not the case with this rod. Soon, it will be too cold for saltwater inshore/surf fishing and I’ll switch to freshwater ponds/lake but I’ll still be using this rod. This is a KastKing 7’6” MH Fast rod paired with a KastKing ReKon Saltwater 4000 reel. It’s the first time I bought from KastKing, won’t be the last (sayonara Penn). In a nutshell, it’s a uniquely versatile, quality rod at a great price.

This is my first rod from KastKing and it's great. I've been wanting to buy a rod from KastKing for about a year and I always put it on hold. I have several other rods so it's not that I really needed another one. Anyhow, I ended up picking up Crixus and it's fantastic. Got the rod yesterday and I ended up testing it the same day for several hours. It seems to be very well made, attention to detail is there for sure, despite one small spot where rod seems to be scuffed up or something, it's kind blueish spot. No big deal, construction is solid and very sturdy, rod is two piece and comes apart with ease. I paired it with KastKing Speed Deamon reel and, combination works well for me. Rod is very light and comfortable in hand, somehow it had a natural feel to it when I picked it up for the first time, grip is fantastic. I also have to mention how impressed I was with the packaging the rod came in, rod was wrapped in nylon bag with sponge protector on the top, all was placed in heavy cardboard tube. Definitely recommend the rod and the company, I will be buying more for sure. I'm eyeing the telescopic KastKing Blackhawk rod for travel, but I'm not sure I can justify the price of tht rod for just the occasional use, it will be on hold for now. Great purchase and I'm glad I finally got it, it will be easier to purchase another ones 😉.

Best trick rod out there! About to order another one!

I had bought this rod 6 months ago and never used it. 17 May 2025 I go to use it and it broke after about the 10th cast. Not good quality in my opinion. I treat my rods as I want them to last. I admit while casting I inadvertently hit it against my boat and snap! Now the force at which it hit it wasn't hard at all which is why I am taking the time to write this review. I would consider something else because this thing is made out of toothpick wood. UPDATE: KastKing did reach out to me to make right of the situation. They did send a new rod in replacement of my original order, however as soon as I tied a new reel to it and tighten the line for storage, the line guide at the tip broke. After contacting them, they did offer to send another rod or provide a refund. As a result, they refunded my money. So my rating of 4 stars is for the excellent customer service.

I bought two of these rods and both broke in the same spot! I am giving this 4 stars only because Kast King has excellent customer service they don’t hesitate to make things right. They took the time to contact me and resolved my issue in a fast timely manner Very impressed with their service and only because of that will I buy again. Really hope they work on this rod tho cause it had a good feel just a weak point that needs improvement.
