My problem is one small bedroom, exact problem area unknown, This is my third major effort to fix.
I purchased and used one similar enzyme product for dogs only at the local big box store but then saw this at Amazon which works for dogs and cats. I knew I needed more solution, so I got this one and am re-treating the same areas while I move furniture and padding around. Carpet was new 1.5 yrs ago (and before installation, old carpet and pad had been gone for 9 months, house vacant while I worked on it), new carpet was never peed on. Before new carpet was installed, I had treated floor 4 times with an ammonia and water solution, talcum and baking soda, thought it had worked, seemed ok during brief periods I was in the room doing electrical work. I realized several months after carpet installed that I still had a problem, room still unfit for sleeping but strangely the new carpet smelled ok. I repeated the steps a year ago but used a different enzyme product (given to me by friend) and also replaced the carpet padding, also used baking soda and talc. I really did not think the previously new pad was a problem but I replaced it anyway, not difficult. I'm trying. Now today, I am doing this again, spraying the pad and sun-drying (I don't detect a problem with that), spraying the floors, and THIS time all the walls and the ceiling as well. I'm using a bottle sprayer, it's not that hard to do but how well it penetrates I don't know. I can say that it runs on the walls then it streaks a bit, but it can be sponge-swiped with a large tiler's sponge and that seems to work.I have done this room in half-sections (strip one side down, treat, wait per instructions then re-lay carpet and do the other side. This works well at least for a smaller area. Every square inch of the room has been treated now and is drying. As re the design, this room has a higher-at-one-end sloped ceiling with textured knockdown drywall surface. It was re-painted when the walls were. Getting on the ladder at the high points (and nose against walls) made me very aware of the old unpleasant smell. I have to assume it invades everything even if not directly urinated upon and that is really what I wanted to convey here, as I have not seen anyone else mentioning walls and ceilings. Edit: have also noticed slight odor when A/C is running, meaning the duct to that room has some contamination. I plan to treat it tomorrow, as best as I can.I don't know if I've fixed the problem yet, but I wanted to alert others to the potential issue of walls and ceiling problems too. Previous occupants evidently had kept dogs (and maybe a cat too) in that room and just let them pee. Other parts of the house had stain marks but basic treatments sufficed when I remodeled after buying the house. This room was the nightmare. So far so good but really it's way too soon to tell. Looking for any other suggestions too. This product is perfumed; the first one I bought was not as, and really had a more pleasant smell. Nonetheless, if it works I'll be happy. I am not sure what the next step would be if it doesn't. 4 stars , one off for the fragrance. Edit: Regarding the fragrance, I have to presume it will fade - I think it's ok. 1 day later so far so good. I do plan to re-treat some wall sections and treat that duct as well. Will update if I can.

Best for untrainable Daschunds!
Damn dirty dogs have to mark from time to time. This stuff works amazing... but you have to be generous in application! Whatever area you think your dog's piss soaked, you have to SOAK 30% more area after an initial cleaning to wipe off the obvious stain.
