Resolved coolant leak problem; nice parts
On my Sonic 1.4T the plastic coolant outlet manifold was cracked and leaking by the hose to the radiator. I was happy to replace it with an aluminum part. The new manifold look nicely crafted, and was not too hard to install. (But I could not access the valve to at the bottom of the radiator to drain it.) After installation, there was a leak at the hose to the radiator, so I installed another hose clamp to resolve the issue. I did not use the hoses that came with the manifold since the current hoses are OK; the hose to the coolant tank is too long for the Sonic.

Much better than the plastic one
I was getting a very slow, seeping leak from where the coolant return line enters the housing. I could have simply replaced the two o-rings inside that clip-connector and been about my business, but one look at that PLASTIC coolant neck made me cringe.I bought this one for the aluminum housing, and nothing else. Since I was already going to be losing at least half my coolant I decided to go ahead and replace the two hoses this housing came with as well. The one inch diameter hose (heater line) was of the proper length and molded into the correct shape. The smaller line (return line to the reservoir) was far too long and not molded in the right shape. This was on a 2018 Buick Encore. I trimmed about eight inches off the line and was able to install it just fine (it just doesn't have the same bend as the original). The longer line was probably designed for another GM car with the 1.4 turbo engine.Ironically the new coolant return line leaked in exactly the same place as my old one! I pulled it apart and found that the lower o-ring had been damaged (installed by the manufacturer) and it was causing the leak. So I bought two new o-rings after all... installed them onto the original hose and connector (the OEM one that fits this car), plugged it into the new housing, and everything is sealed-up nicely now.Overall the housing is well-made, and is identical to the OEM part (minus being plastic, of course). The gasket that came with the housing was also good quality and the hoses seem to be OEM quality as well.Even though I had one damaged o-ring and the return line wasn't molded for my vehicle, I didn't remove any stars as this is definitely a quality upgrade over that horrible OEM plastic housing!

Tighten it a few times
Seems great so far. The hoses popped on easily, and it was an exact match. My only comment, and by no means it it a flaw, is tighten it down part way several times.Follow the TQ pattern around until the fasteners stop moving. It may actually take 5-6 circles to do it. I've noticed that with these 'metal replacement for plastic parts' items. They all seem to work great, but the metal, not being as flexible, needs additional care to make sure you get a seal.My leaks have stopped, and the CEL is gone. I'm very happy with this one.

Solid, decent quality. Forgivable minor issues.
Mating surface was machined fairly smooth. Overall finish is good.Included bolts require a smaller etorx socket than stock, don't recall the size. But they do work as they should.(DO NOT reuse your stock bolts for this, they'll snap in the block while being torqued.)Included hoses are part of why I chose this particular seller's product. The shorter hose on my vehicle was heavily worn.(Previously replaced the longer one from the expansion tank. Didn't need it.)I purchased this water outlet together with - "FEL-PRO 35979 Water Outlet Gasket" to use in place of the included gasket. The included gasket felt "smooshy", almost like the consistency of a kid's squishy toy.The included gasket will work, but I preferred the fel-pro straight away.(DO NOT re-use the gasket from your old water outlet, either use the included gasket or buy a new acdelco/fel-pro gasket.)If you don't have them, get yourself some hose clamp pliers for this job.Can get by with channel lock/needlenose pliers for the hose clamps, but it's tight.27 days without a leak. Thank you.

I would imagine this will be the last one ever put on car.
The original plastic one held up for 10 years before cracking apart. This one should last at least as long.

Unfortunately...
Decided to upgrade from the plastic part that lasted for less than two years. 3 weeks and 1,500km in so far and still holding up.Update: there is a leak. See photo for evidence. This is about 6 weeks since installation.Last update: turns out it needed a better fitting o-ring at the coolant bypass hose connection to stop the leak. If you get this part, be sure you (or your mechanic) have other o-rings on standby.
