Fastest Hand Saw In My Kit
I saw a lotta trees & branches. I have a chainsaw, but sometimes a hand saw is more convenient and frankly, it's good training! Plus, no gas, no battery to charge, and with proper (easily achieved) care, it won't crap out in you when you really need it. I have a couple bow saws, and some nice timber saws more designed for branches or pruning, but I had only one cross cut saw and it seemed anything over 6", it would bind up and took a ton of effort. I was waiting until I could afford the new chainsaw I really wanted, but I came across this saw in my recommended items. I had a job lined up processing and hauling a felled tree, so I picked it up. I knew this saw would be hot! I sawed right through a 14" diameter tree like I was a human chainsaw! It made me feel like a Lumberjack crossed with The Terminator! And a laser straight cut, no binding or surprise SPROING! when yer focused and chugging hard... just straight through til the log dropped. I love this saw. Next level would be the one or two man style cross cut... I don't like depending on anyone else, so this is perfect. It doesn't bind up like my bow saw and is big enough for larger timber. I got the chainsaw I wanted for this time, but still go for this saw just for the joy of putting the Swedish steel to lumber. I highly recommend this saw to all who care more about the journey than the destination when it comes to tree dismemberment!

An amazing saw.
When a tree fell in our back yard I was going to borrow or rent a chainsaw to clean it up, as I’ve done many times in my life. My grandfather owned a logging company/camp, and my dad was a logger in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. I am well experienced with chainsaw use and safety precautions. My wife is not a fan, so she asked me if I could find a safer way to clear the tree, so I looked around and found this saw. At $34 it was cheaper than renting a chainsaw, so I figured I’d give it a try. Now I’m 67 and, despite my upbringing, I’ve spent the last 40 years working as a professor, so I don’t do a lot of physical work. I’m 160 pounds and just shy of 5 feet 9 inches tall, and although I’m fit, I had my misgivings. The trunk of the dead tree is around 10 inches and the wood is incredibly dense, and it’s great. One reviewer said it cuts like butter. I wouldn’t say that; however, it cuts fast and clean. I’ve been cutting it in sections over the last couple of days. My wife is happy, and I’m happy.

Wonderhorse
I gave up trying to get my chainsaw started and bought this saw. I was able to clear the trail the fallen branch was blocking. The saw is sturdy, sharp, impressive. Cut straight and clean. It was still a bit of exercise for 70 year old guy, but so is yanking the cord on the chainsaw. The difference being, this saw produced results. It's a keeper.

This thing is great
Didn't think I'd find myself reviewing a saw. But credit where credit due. I had an old oak that had fallen, that I was able to buck about 1/2 with my axe...the rest of it, just way too solid. Didn't matter how sharp the axe was, just kept bouncing off.I will absolutely NOT say anything like "cuts like a knife through butter" or anything like that. I will say it cut faster and more aggressively than I expected it to. That said, you're still sawing through a log, and depending on the size, be prepared for quite a lot of arm workout.8 cuts of 24" diameter oak, and it felt maybe slightly slower at the end than at the beginning, but not enough to call it dull at that point. Proceeded to use it on a fallen birch after, and it made quick work of that.If I had any criticisms.....eh, I would have liked the handle to be contoured a little better. I didn't get any hot spots or anything, though. And if you're not careful, sliding the blade protector thing back on can be dangerous for your fingers...if you even bother to put it back on. But really, that's about all I can find to fault. In summary, absolutely worth the money if you're running into lumber that your axe just isn't working, and you're unable to (or choose not to) use a chain saw.

pretty good
cuts better than I thought. Much better than bowsaw. Sharpening is not difficult. You are sharpening 2 teeth in one stroke of the file because they line up that way.

Outstanding wood Saw
I wasn't sure what I was going to get with this Bahco, and after using it a while, it is one of the best wood saws I have used in many years. I could definitely recommend this saw for cutting firewood, cutting down small trees on a farm in which bringing a chain saw all the way down to the lower 40 acres is not worth the effort. An added advantage is that this can be resharpened many times, rather than the current crop of Impulse heat treated saws in which that cannot be done. All in all, and excellent investment and Amazon did an amazing job of getting it to me quickly and without hassle.

Love This Saw
I really love this saw. We live in a wooded area and there is always some kind of tree or branch situation which needs cleaning up. This saw is perfect for anything up to 4" or 5" in diameter. You can saw through in seconds without having to use a chainsaw. I've used it for logs up to 12", but that's a stretch. Highly recommend.

Productive saw
I purchased this Western Rip hand saw for the construction of a timber frame gazebo. It was delivered in a timely fashion, and was 100% free of defects. It is a well-balanced, sharp, and true-cutting saw, enabling me to produce accurate cuts consistently, through the project. I would definely recommend this product, as it is very good value for the money. Most Rip saws (if you can find them ) range from $150-$250.
