Perfect fit!
I was a little leery ordering boots online, but I took the risk, and now I'm glad I did!I'm an Army veteran, and I can tell you that quality boots make or break a troop that's on the ground.I normally have to buy half a size up for boots and shoes, as I wear a wide, but they offered my size and it fit perfectly. These boots will easily go into bunny boots if you work in the deep arctic like I do, although they're plenty warm for any climate you're likely to come across about +50 to -50 in latitude (Basically the southern border of Canada all the way to deep south Argentina.) If you're in Europe, these boots will do fine, as the Gore-tex lining helps keep your feet dry. If you're as far north as Norway, these boots may be sufficient, but you might want some bunny boots to go over them. They were a bit rigid out of the box, but that's to be expected. I soaked the inside with water and wore them around the house for a few hours. That broke them in immediately.I was on my feet for 10 hours yesterday, and didn't give my feet a second thought. Very comfortable and very highly recommended. I do recommend buying a suede boot cleaning kit to keep them looking nice, if you're concerned with such things.

Best Boots I’ve Hiked in… EVER…
(After a 16 mile, 1,000Ft+ elevation change, and 7+ hour hike my feet were still comfortable and would be able to wear the boot for the rest of the day) Bought these boots because they are waterproof and we’re hopefully thin enough to hike warm weather and cold weather conditions. They were a little roomy and didn’t really have an issue with the insole but still decided to swap it out with a better one which, I couldn’t be happier that I did. They fit perfect now and don’t give me any issues when hiking in 100 degree weather nor do they give me issues in freezing rain. I’ve walked through mid calf streams and my feet stayed dry. I have stood in boot high water for long periods of time and they still kept my feet dry. I love the flat laces and the design as well. With a good pit of boots like these and a good upkeep they should last me years and years! The two photos I have are fresh after a cleaning so the leather is wet making them look darker, they are a true coyote brown when dry. Serious props to Garmont for making a boot I will buy again and comfortably wear every day.

Outstanding Boot
I have had these boots going on two years now, 10,000 to 13,000 steps a day. They are worn daily from 6am to 6 pm in all the weather Maine can throw at them. They have seen heavy rain, sub zero temps and hot humid days. They still have plenty of life left in them. No rips, or deterioration of the fabric, none of the eyes have pulled out and I'm still on the original laces. The Gortex is still doing it's job keeping my feet dry and comfortable despite the crazy rainy summer we had this year. The tread is starting to wear and will probably go first but I have no doubt the boots will make it till spring.

Comfortable boots....but
Love these boots for how comfortable and light and durable. But when it comes to working in an dense urban environment they do not work at all when they are on wet smooth surfaces; i e manhole covers, metal grates, tile, linoleum etc.But if you're just on concrete and dirt they have very good traction, but with the line of work that I do, I am on multi-services and they do not do well when it's wet or oily.

Amazing and bought a size half up
I wear a size 9US in Vans, Nike etc. I saw that everyone was recommending i go a size half up and wide. I wear an 8R in standard issue Army McRaes and their a little snug and take a minute to break in. I bought these in 9.5W, I think I still wouldve been fine if i bought a 9R. I wear these with medium weight fox river socks and it took maybe a week to break in. Ive recently been dealing with heavy snowfall and walk across a creek that was boot deep and my feet stayed dry. I stepped in boots deep worth of mud and with some mild scrubbing and hot water while wearing the boot absolutely 0 issues. Ill buy another pair of these when these wear out.

Great cold weather boot
Functions as expected and described. I broke these in by filling them with water and then wearing them for several hours while I did house and yard work. They broke in easily. I used them for a hunting trip in upstate New York and they did very well in the mountain terrain and sub-freezing weather. Very comfortable and great traction. I did order them a half size bigger and in the wide (vice the normal size width that I normal wear in my running shoes).

Very tight fit. I do not recommend, especially for the cost.
I was very disappointed when I used these boots the first time. I do not recommend cold weather less than 40 -degrees. Even if you are a regular width, get the wides because they are a very tight fit and get a half size up as well. So, when they mean cold weather, they must mean between 40-50 degrees but cause anything lower that, your foot will be frozen. I was up north a few months ago in -10 to 20-degree weather and my foot was freezing whenever I stepped outside. I was wearing wool socks but the second problem I ran into, is that the compartment is soo small that any bulky sock will be too thick and it will constrict your foot too much. I could only comfortably fit my foot in there when I was wearing a thin sock. I ordered the wides because of my flat feet and even then they were a bit too narrow. The only good thing about these is the Vibram sole is pretty rugged and they are AR670-1 compliant. They would be a good temperate weather boot, but not cold weather. Highly do not recommend them for the price. Garmont makes some good stuff, but not these.

The best boots
I purchased these to replace an exact pair that I have been using for work. I purchased my first pair at a local retailer and they were about $80 more than through Amazon seller. They run a bit small I normally wear a size 9 1/2 and these I had to get in a size 10. The MOST comfortable boot I have worn. No break in period required, didn't need it and didn't get any sore points or blisters from wearing them out of the box. Once this pair wears out I will be purchasing another. First pair lasted a year and a half of daily wear. Highly recommend.
