I’ve been wanting to get into sourdough, and this kit made it a lot less intimidating. The jar is a great size, and I really like the measurement markings and temperature guide on the side. The elastic band is a simple idea but actually super helpful for keeping track of how much my starter has risen. The spatula and covers are nice quality too. Everything feels well thought out, and it has made feeding and maintaining my starter much easier. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone just getting started or looking to upgrade from using a regular mason jar.

I’m very happy with this sourdough starter kit. The jar is sturdy, easy to clean, and the measurement markings make it simple to track the starter’s growth. I especially like the feeding tracker band—it helps me remember when I last fed my starter without having to set reminders. The breathable cloth cover is a nice addition, and the included spatula is perfect for mixing and scraping the sides of the jar. I have tried so many jars for my sourdough, but this one is big enough. Just right, it washes well, just with hot water and it is ready to use again. Even the spatula that comes with it is of excellent quality. It scraps the sides and cleans the sourdough so you can see how much the sourdough has risen. I am even thinking of buying another one to have two for my sourdough.

Save yourself the heartache. I bought this container 9 months ago and today when I fed my starter, a piece of glass broke out of the bottom in shards. My starter is now garbage and I have to start another one, which we all know takes months to become strong.
