Not the smoothest turner at times, but that might be due to the lighting in our house. I've never used a device like this before, so it is quite possible I don't know the optimal lighting and positioning for it.As far as the device itself, it's very versatile. It doesn't need to be plugged in to work. Doesn't need an app on the phone. Doesn't need any kind of configuring. It's pretty much good to go right out of the box (after getting a full charge).The notch at the bottom lets you mount it on a tripod. So again, it's pretty versatile. Dunno if you will be able to produce professional videos with this (again, my lighting might be the problem), but it can certainly keep track of you if you're on a video call with someone. And this might be a fun gift for a responsible kid (one that won't be rough with it).

This is awesome. Love the light feature, and that it follows movement, so I don't have to re-position my phone when filming.

Although I found it slightly inconvenient to charge each component separately, it didn't detract significantly from the overall user experience.The motorized tripod activated smoothly with a long press of the single button on the base, allowing for 360-degree rotation. However, I encountered some confusion when attempting to operate the built-in light. While a double tap of the power button should theoretically activate it, I found the process less intuitive than expected. Adjusting the brightness and temperature settings required multiple taps of the button, making it somewhat cumbersome to find the desired lighting configuration. Additionally, the long press function occasionally triggered a flashing mode, which seemed unnecessary for a simple light feature.Despite these minor issues, I found the CooCoCo Tracking Tripod to be a valuable tool for video recording and content creation. Its ability to track faces automatically added a dynamic element to my recordings, ensuring that the subject remained centered and in focus throughout. However, I did notice that the tripod was not naturally inclined to position the face dead center in the frame, leading to some minor adjustments on my part to achieve the desired alignment. While a manual repositioning feature would have been helpful, I was able to fine-tune the angle of my phone within the spring-loaded holder to maintain centering consistently.One aspect of the tripod that fell short of my expectations was the effectiveness of gesture controls. Despite the manufacturer's claims, I found these controls to be unreliable, often resulting in unintended actions such as activating the camera's selfie mode. As a result, I opted to manually disable tracking when necessary rather than relying on gesture commands.On a positive note, the tripod's versatility allowed for seamless transitions between landscape and portrait modes, catering to various recording preferences. Additionally, the adjustable lens angles provided flexibility depending on whether the tripod was positioned above or below the subject. This feature proved particularly useful for capturing footage from different perspectives, enhancing the overall quality of my recordings.Charging indicators for both the motor and light components served as a convenient way to monitor battery levels, ensuring that the tripod was always ready for use. While the instructions provided with the product were informative, I found the small font size and occasional inaccuracies to be somewhat challenging to navigate.
