Smooth linear rail and well made Easy Assembly
Assembled just right and works 1st time. First project was this waste board for future projects. Lots of power. Laser well built and has built in air defuser air pump separate.

Great machine for the price!!!
This machine and a Lightburn software subscription are a recipe for fun and creativity. There can be a bit of a learning curve if you have no experience in CNC/laser engraving but with a little web research and some trial and error you can catch on quickly. It’s hard to believe what you can do with this laser for such a small investment.

Good machine but there's a learning curve
This laser engraver is really good quality. It's not too hard to assemble but wasn't exactly simple either. Some items to note are that it was easier to follow the pictures in the instructions than the written instructions and that the bags containing parts are not numbered according to the step you use them for. Example: Bag 1 is not for Step 1. However, if you go into the assembly knowing this (and if you read everything before you start unpacking and building), you should be fine. Also want to note that the engraver comes packaged so that all parts are protected extremely well. You shouldn't have to worry about receiving a damaged machine or any damaged parts. You'll need to set the engraver up in a safe place and you need to wear the protective goggles it comes with (because it's a laser). If someone is going to hang out with you while you engrave, they're going to need goggles too. You could tell them to look away and keep their eyes shut, as if you're Indiana Jones and Marion closing their eyes as the Ark is opened but just get more goggles. Btw, I don't know why there's a kid photoshopped into one of the product pics. That seems super dangerous. This is not a kids' toy. If you're going to engrave items, you might be able to use this machine without a special table (though you want to use a surface that isn't going to get set on fire). But if you want to cut all the way through something, you're going to need a working table. You might not want to set this up on your dining room table or your computer desk. The engraver comes with a trial version of LightBurn, a software you can use for engraving. You don't have to use LightBurn but whatever software you choose, you will have to learn how to use that software in order to operate this engraver. If you're already proficient and familiar with one of the programs that works with the engraver, you're a step ahead. Otherwise, be prepared to learn a new program.Bottom line: 4 stars because it's a great product but needs a few more accessories to make it safe and you'll need to learn new software to use it (if you don't already know how to use some type of engraving software).

It worked GREAT!
Took a minute to put together. Instruction can be simplified with more detail. The limited isn’t mention nor shown so I took it off. Then had to scramble to get it on. Once completed I ran my version of a test. The light burn recognized it immediately. And, off I went creating. Do I recommend this product? YES! Idk.

Enjoying this diode laser cutter
I'm a first-time laser cutter user, so I had to do a lot of research before I ever turned this on. But it was easy enough to assemble, and the manual pointed me to two different programs I could use with it. For now, I've gone with LaserGRBL, which is free. I also decided I needed a honeycomb bed and an enclosure before using it in my apartment. The cutter comes with protective glasses, along with protection built into the laser shroud, but having a good enclosure is still recommended, both for eye protection and for any fumes produced.Diode lasers get a bad reputation, often for good reason. I have a lot good to say about this one, though. First, it advertises itself as 18W output. Many diode lasers advertise by the higher input power (90W, in this case), in order to sound more impressive than they really are. There's little use in comparing input power, so it's great that this laser sells itself with the more useful number.Second, it has air assist, which isn't universal. This is safer for the material and for the user. My enclosure has an exhaust fan, but air assist helps by traveling with the laser, blowing away debris, keeping the material cooler, and helping fumes make their way to the exhaust.Third, it has limit switches to let the software know where the edges are. From there, it can more accurately determine where the laser is positioned. This is a fairly cheap feature that I'm surprised isn't standard. So far, I've used it to cut or engrave chipboard, corrugated cardboard, and black acrylic. It's done well with all 3. The only concern I have at the moment is that the listing mentions a password for "the engraver's hotspot." As far as I can tell, this machine doesn't have any such thing. I'm guessing that information was erroneously copied and pasted from a different model. I've been using a USB cable to connect, and it has a slot for a microSD card. [Edit: It does have a hotspot, and it looks like you're supposed to connect it through the BURNLAB app. I can't get it to show up on my phone, though. I can connect with my laptop, but when I go to the address for it, I just get an error.]I've included pictures of a necklace display and stand I made with this cutter, as well as a small cardboard project and some tests on acrylic and chipboard. I'm not sure if this is helpful, since I'm so new to this, but I'm trying to give any information I know how to give. This hasn't been an easy hobby to get into, but I can already tell it will absolutely be worth it!

Seems well made, easy to assemble
Easy to follow instructions, comes with samples to try. It’s larger than I expected.

Very Frustrating
We have another laser cutter/printer that works well. That one was easy to set up, easy to link to a cutting program, and just all around easy to use. This one? Uh, no. It has been an utter nightmare trying to get this thing set up. We got it done but not before a lot of choice words were used during the process. It does burn and cut well, but honestly, I'm happier with the other, less powerful, one that we own.I'm giving it four stars instead of less or more because it's still relatively new to me. Once I truly get the hang of it, I'll pop back on here and maybe change my rating and review.
