12-quart bottles of Black Gold Vacuum Pump Oil. Black Gold Vacuum Pump Oil is the gold standard in vacuum pump care. For use in any vacuum pump, Black Gold is extremely pure and non-detergent. Our Black Gold is hydro processed, meaning it goes through a series of catalytic steps rendering the oil extremely refined, more viscous, and more stable. The result is clear mineral oil which will alert you to contamination sooner as it becomes cloudy or milky. In extreme temperatures, the oil will be more resistant to contaminants. We still recommend, however, that the oil be changed after every evacuation for maximum performance and pump efficiency.

Used it in a 2-stage Chinese pump where it lowered the vacuum by over 10% and reduced the pump chatter. It would have been great to do a longevity test by using two identical pumps and running the cheap oil in one while the Black Gold was in the other but I didn't have that luxury and the freeze dryer was sold soon after. The professionals swear by this product and it seems to work as well as it's reputation would lead you to believe.

**Q: How many quarts do you get for $19.99? + $6.28 shipping?**
A: One quart.  This is high purity mineral oil for high vacuum applications in rotary mechanical pumps.

**Q: Your description says 12 bottles.  I placed an order is this what I will get?**
A: Dvo-12 is what it is but the description when I bought it said 12 bottles and I only received one so I'm going to be in contact with the company when I get back from my travels!

**Q: My manual says to use "high vacuum pump oil"  will this work for me?**
A: This in my opinion is the very best vacuum pump oil out there .

**Q: What is the freezing point of this oil.  Can you store it at single digits °F.**
A: Sorry, I don't know.  I don't live in climates that drop in the single digits.
