It is as described & happy so far
We live in a coastal area subject to strong gales & in order to prevent our garden table flipping in an exceptionally strong gust we leave the bottom part of the parasol pole in place (& tie it down if needed), therefore a heavy parasol base is required which will fit under the table ok....and ideally one which won't corrode in the salt air. So far, this base has done the trick. We were worried it might be too large or obtrusive but it is fine. Being all-plastic is good for us to avoid corrosion. Can't say how hard-wearing it will be - we have deliberately not filled it with water due to the risk of splitting it if the water was to freeze. The wheels and handle are helpful when positioning it

FILLING .. Forget sand, do what I did
Sand cloggs, it doesn't free flow through such a small opening so do what I did. FORGET sand.Go to a large retailer and get yourself a large bag of dishwasher salt granules. Now using the plastic funnel that comes with your dishwasher for the salt reservoir, put this into the opening of the base and pour. I filled mine in literally 5 mins. You just gotta think it through guys. Hope it helps !The base is great, Fairly sturdy with big wheels on one side, so you tilt and push. Not experienced a strong breeze, but for that you'd put it away anyway.

WILL NOT GRIP POLE
My pole is inside the measurements stated. As I tighten the retainer it just pops the threads and jumps out. cheap product, poor quality also it will not sit flat on the floor, has a wobble to it like the base is not square. very disappointed... it's on its way back for a refund. Don't waste your money.

Bit disappointed
We bought this to hold a rotary washing line in place. The peg part of this base didn’t fit in securely and once the Washing line pole was in place and tightened, it loosened after a short time. It might do the job but I’m not sure if it will be good enough on a breezy day. We part filled it with water. It will be very heavy if completely filled but may need that to stay in place

Perfect for my rotary line.
It is a 'beast' size wise! But perfect for what I needed it for.... a stand for my rotary washing line (30m). Filled with water, but think will add sand for extra weight. Is very sturdy and rotary line seems secure in it. Very pleased.

My new parasol stand.
Looks good, but the one I have does not seem strong enough to hold the parasol with 40mm pole. The pole tensioning nut would not tighten without jumping the thread.Returned the base and having a replacement, and hopefully will keep pole upright this time.Alas the replacement has just collasped 28/07/20,just not strong enough for the job it is made for.

Big, Heavy and Functional
Wow!This is the 'big-daddy' of water-filled parasol bases. With a potential weight of 45kg when full it's going to keep your parasol upright even when that 'gentle' summer breeze has knocked your fence panels horizontal.A couple of caveats though:It's BIG at 50cm square by 25cm high (excluding pole socket). It's UGLY. No, that's unkind. It's functional and (seems) pretty robust. Although it's made in Italy there's no Ferrari styling in evidence.A 38mm pole diameter is the absolute minimum for a snug fit. Any less and you'll be relying on gravity to keep the pole in its socket. It's a shame that Amazon couldn't have put the dimensions in the product description. I had to take a chance that it would fit between the cantilevered legs of our patio table - it does, just. So, Five stars for the functional product, Four stars for styling but only Three stars for the Amazon product information. But at less than £21 GBP it's a steal.

Great idea but struggles with heavy loads
Purchased to use as a stand for a rotary airer. Doesn't cope with big load and strong wind as central post holder bent over then unit upended and split. Have fixed and now use with only light load. The moving wheel and grab handle are useful additions but the central Post holder could do with being made from a sturdier material or retro fit with a metal alternative.
