I have only used this 3 nights in a row but it has worked perfectly. I have issues with mindless night eating and needed something to help stop it. This is great you can set it and it unlocks itself after the set time. I had to buy a longer cable for my fridge though so beware the cable this comes with is very short it's 12 inches. Would recommend.

I take a sleep medicine that had me eating in the middle of the night. I was so mad when I woke up and it was doing terrible things for my diet! I looked for refrigerated lockboxes to no avail. Well, what I found was small and would not hold what I needed Then I found this beautiful lock with its extension cable, which which I can wrap around the handles to the refrigerator and it works perfectly! I put snacks inside the refrigerator and you can set it by the minute by the hour or by the day and it is not possible to open it before the time is up! My son bought one as well to lock up his computer and cell phone phone so he doesn’t use it at night! The only thing I could think of that would be an improvement is the extension cable should be a thicker chain . I am not stupid enough to cut through the cable and waste my money, but I could see some people who could be more desperate would do so and I’m pretty sure you could cut through this cable pretty easily! For my needs, it’s absolutely perfect. It’s digital and requires charging by USB, but that’s not at all a problem for me — when I take it off the refrigerator in the morning I plug it in and then I take it off the charger at night to use it. I have not tested how long it last without being charged because it’s not a problem for me to charge daily! When the time is up, the lock literally pops open!

The other cheap plastic ones will break after a few uses, mine luckily failed in the open position and would not lock. I went out of my way finding one with a different design since most of them seem to use the same crappy chinese mechanism and controls. This one struck me as being totally different, and is! I have used it about a dozen times now for various applications and it has never failed to lock or open when it is supposed to. It is an an-metal design so the durability is way above the other cheaper plastic body ones. You can set up to a 99 day lock on this timer, I didn't see that in the description.

This is perfect for my needs. I can choose minutes, hours or days very easily and the lock clicks open when the timer runs to zero. Definitely a five star purchase.

This review is for the "Metal Timer Lock." (I also have the fridge timer lock which has the MAC address code on it and scanned easily on the app. I can control it via the app. ) The "Metal Timer Lock" does not have a MAC address code label on it. I am trying to discover it, but the app only displays MAC address codes, and I'm going to have to go through 8 - 10 codes to see if I can find the device to pair. I cannot tell which MAC address code is the Metal Timer Lock....For my fridge, this metal wire cable looks adequate in build, but it is not long enough to loop through all of the handles. Wait for product 2.0 before you try out. I plan to return if I cannot pair in another 24 hours. I will write an update if I'm successful.Update - not successful despite an app update by the manufacturer. Advice - WAIT.Update - later, manufacturer says that app control is not offered by this lock....
