Little Gem
This excellent book is a little gem. Clear, concise and very actionable information. I will certainly be using this strategy moving forward. Many thanks.

Hairy fairy - SAVE YOUR MONEY
Let's say I looked through past data and found some symbols which gave me good results and then knocked up some freely available information into a 53 page book, I would get this book. If you think you're going to get something concrete from a 53 page book costing £2.99 you're dreaming.

Good, extremely simple plan that outdoes more complicated plans
As always with Tim's books, I found a nugget or two that make me think about my own investing. In this case, finding a pair of "best of" ETFs to achieve a somewht unusual stocks/bonds split by adding in dividends. The dividends part I honestly hadn't thought of much in this context because I'm not currently doing buy and hold.A couple of wishes:The author has a book called "The 20% Solution", which I own. It has been removed from Amazon to the author's website. and a brief word explaining the similarity in the books' titles would have been appreciated. One star deducted for that. He was kind enough to email me that The 20% Solution is still viable, just a different approach -- and frankly worth more than the old Amazon price -- so I'll add the star back. I guess I was lucky to get it at $3.99 or whatever the old price was.CAGR over the last 3 years would have been interesting. I don't think his new strategy has been providing 11% over that stretch. Some people think the stock market as a whole is permanently shifting into a lower gear, and some thoughts on that would have been appreciated. That said, this is the best 2-fund buy & hold strategy that I know of, in an inexpensive and to-the-point book, so that's good value for the money. I also appreciated his breakdown of capital gains taxes - which I know intimately, but many books like this elide completely. Again, good value for your money.

I disliked the fact that the book left out ideas that could be used for a further purchase. I also disliked the idea that the warnings regarding what could be mentioned in the review of the book.

Very good information!!
Again, I found several tips presented in this book that I were very useful. However, I did not find any mention of a strategy to make monthly or quarterly deposits to an existing, active account. While this was a disappointment, and I can understand why this might not be covered due to complexity, it wouldnot be too hard to adapt one of Tim's examples to a spreadsheet to observe past and future growth of an account. Still, I give the information presented high marks!!
