Most alloy wheel manufactures design there wheels with a certain size of centre bore to reduce the amount of wheels they manufacture for different makes and models. Spigot rings are then used to reduce the bore size to your particular make and model. Spigot rings are used to ensure the alloy wheel fits snug to your hub. Without using a spigot ring you will suffer from the wheel vibrating and also increase the chance of uneven tyre wear and make it a lot harder to balance your wheel.
