This teleprompter has been great to have on set. For it's relatively low cost, it has helped us improve the quality of our production. I am happy that we got it.

I use this for reading scripts on my chromebook. This enables me to look into the camera and read from about 12 feet away. The neewer app for having the text scroll and be shown backwards doesn't work on a chromebook so the included remote is useless. I use the parrot app and a mini Logitech keyboard as the remote instead. The 17inch chromebook is way too big so I had to add extension arms to hold it. The screen on that chromebook is also too big, a 15 inch screen would work better even though this is called a 17inch teleprompter. The build quality is great; the extra weight, 3d printed arms and metal extensions I made were not a problem for this.Remember this is just a tablet holder and a mirror basically, it doesn't really do anything without a device, app, camera, tripod. That's why a couple hundred dollars seems crazy to me.

This teleprompter has dramatically improved both my eye-contact and easy of filming.1. Adjusting the text scrolling area in the app to be where the camera lens is located will keep your eyes from moving or appearing to look elsewhere. This makes your production more engaging!2. Adjusting the size of text and its scrolling speed will smooth out your vocal quality and this makes the audience more likely to keep watching. What you need to do is practice reading and following at the pace/speed that you feel comfortable with, then practice your script a few times to get your brain used to reading at a regular pace instead of dynamically shifting speed like we do in everyday speech. The result is a better video that people want to listen to.3. The reflectivity of the glass is very good, even in night sunlight. The closer to 45° the better.4. The felt back cover does a great job at keeping light out.5. I’ve been shooting with a mobile phone and this works great. I put the slider as forward as possible and then adjust the horizontal angle to keep the outer cover out of frame. I have had no problems using my phone on 4K video with this teleprompter.Overall I totally recommend this. I got a great deal and it’s made all the difference for my production quality. Get it! 👍

Expected brand new but got an obviously used and returned teleprompter. The glass is completely smudged, the remote is scratched clearly used and still has somebody's batteries in it. The plastic bag is supposed to come in was just stuffed inside. No instructions, not even certain if all the parts are in the box. Really poor quality control. Will likely send it back.Tough to rate.UPDATEReceived the replacement from Amazon, and I have to say this is excellent build quality, it has everything that I need, the remote control works beautifully with the app that they have. Note the pictures with my Canon M50 mounted perfectly. And my remote microphone fitting into a hot shoe style slot. I think they thought of everything, and I couldn't be more pleased.

Look, the quality of the teleprompter itself is actually pretty solid. Love that it comes with a remote as well. My two major knocks are 1) that the case it comes in is kinda flimsy, and 2) the app is just absolutely terrible to work with.It can be very buggy, doesn't have seamless integrations with Google Docs or a ton of flexibility for display options within the app. In any case, you kinda get what you pay for here and it's definitely not bad for a budget teleprompter situation if you're recording in a home studio/office setup. You may want a slightly larger one though if you have trouble reading screens from a distance.
