I use them all about the house - nightstand, coffee table, desk. I've never been much for the kind of wood and cork style coasters; I prefer the heavier, more ceramic/stone ones. I do like the design on these with the little sayings and the kind of faux-barn house wood markings. They're light in color, so they stand out well enough against most wood, and the cork on the BOTTOM means they stay in place. I suppose they're a bit porous as well as condensate never works its way onto the table. The little holder is nice - keeps the all together and accessible.
