Great Quality Protein Powder! I’ve been very happy with this protein powder. The vanilla flavor tastes great without being overly sweet, and it mixes smoothly with water or milk without clumping. The ingredients are clean, and it’s made from grass-fed whey, which I appreciate. It’s easy on my stomach and has become part of my daily routine after workouts. Review for Vanilla Whey Protein. Container arrived double sealed with both plastic shrink wrap outer seal and inner foil seal. Initial aroma on opening the container: pleasant faint vanilla smell. Mixed 2 scoops with 600 ml of water in a 1L nalgene. Shook for 45 sec. Product was well mixed with no clumping. Taste: Good! The vanilla flavor is subtle. Very drinkable mixed with straight water, Flavor is similar, but better tasting than skim milk. Would make an excellent base for most smoothie flavors. Expiration date on container (3/2020) is 21 months from the current date. Lot # is printed on the container. Ingredients are clean and minimal. Some reviewers complained about added sugar, however 6g of cane sugar is only 24 calories. A can of coke has 39g added sugar. So added the sugar is minimal and does improve the taste. If you don't want sugar, then order the version without sugar. Comparison to Pro Mix unflavored Whey protein isolate. The vanilla version definitely tastes better and is drinkable straight, while the unflavored isolate version really needs to mixed with some other flavors. Both products are good. One thing I like about the unflavored is you can easily customized your own flavor mixes. Price: Yes it's expensive. You are are paying more for a higher quality product. So great to find a protein powder that’s not in one of those big plastic containers. Our recycler does not recycle that kind of plastic so I can imagine how much room they take up at the landfill for the powder itself has a great flavor. Well, some people may not like the texture when added to a liquid beverage I use it in, still cut oats and smoothies – so there is not a gritty texture. The price has gone up since so many people are using protein powders in combination with weight loss drugs cost of transportation may have affected that too still it’s a low cost source of protein compared to meat and it’s not overly sweet but still sweet enough to be yummy. Highly recommend.

I bought this after doing a bunch of research on comparable products. I bought the unflavored version at a brick and mortar store for a bit more money, and the nutrition was as good as promised, but it was hard to tolerate. I hoped the vanilla flavor would help with palatability. I usually don’t have the time to mix it with something healthy in a blender, so it’s usually straight to the shaker bottle. I wasn’t expecting a soft drink powder - it’s a supplement after all - but it’s just not good. I want to rate this higher because it is truly solid as a supplement, but it smells and tastes strongly of baby formula - enough so that simply opening the jar made my kitchen smell like it. I found nothing about this product to justify the word “vanilla” on the label - it’s just awful unless you mix it with something else to overpower it. It seriously made me question my plans to eat clean as I gutted through three jars’ worth. That said, I DO recommend the peanut butter chocolate version. Same nutrition, same results, but without much smell and a way less noxious flavor. That version tastes lightly of bulk unsalted peanuts and not much like its label would suggest, but it was a vastly better experience and I have started buying the bulk version because it’s working for me. Speaking of, I started with the smallest size as a test. This turned out to be a fortunate plan with the vanilla. If you’ve used other supplements sold in this sized container, you may be surprised to find the serving size here is two scoops which are each about 6-8 times larger than the typical thimble or teaspoon-sized scoops in many other pre-/post-workout supplements. Using it twice a day to help me cut weight per my nutrition advisor, I burned through this jar in little over a week. The next size up gives you five times the amount for four times the price, and should hold for at least a month.
