Exceptional Value, especially if you upgrade the nib!
This is an exceptionally good fountain pen. Of course, you must enjoy using a large pen with a #8 nib or this won't work for you. If you prefer a smaller pen, you can explore the Wing Sung 629, which emulates the MontBlanc 146. First point: yes, it looks just like the Montblanc 149 except for the cap band engraving and the lack of a white star on the cap. This is a fantastic pen, but it is not the equal of the 149. The 149 has better fit and finish. Nonetheless, the Wing Sung 630 is an incredible bargain and offers a genuinely enjoyable writing experience. Not so many years ago, before COVID and before the Chinese Central Bank began to hoard gold because it fears US banking sanctions if it ever attacks Taiwan, nice fountain pens with 14k nibs could be purchased for a bit over $100 (Platinum 3776, Pilot Custom 74/92, Sailor standard 1911 and pro gear slim). The larger Sailor pens with 21k nibs could be found for as little as $150. Pelikan on the grey market (and before price hikes) was priced in the $200-$400 range (M200 to M1000). Sigh...the good ole days, haha. Today, the WingSung 630 is a uniquely attractive fountain pen that still offers incredible value and--dare I say it--potentially superior writing enjoyment to any of those pens I listed above (except maybe the M1000) for an all-in-price of less than $250 if you swap in a 14k nib unit (available on a sites like AliExpress). Steel replacement nib units and nibs are available for $15 or less. This pen is sold in a variety of variations: different colors, transparent sections, flat-top shapes. Some sellers offer this with EF/F/M/B nibs. For everyday writing, I favor the EF nib, both in steel and 14k. If you buy one and want to swap nibs, it is quite easy to accomplish: the nib unit screws in and out, like Pelikan and some other higher-end fountain pens, and the nib and feed are also friction fit into the unit. If you buy the M nib and have a little bit of handiness (It doesn't take much--just look for a YouTube video) and some 2000 grade sandpaper (ultra cheap at a hardware store), you can grind down the M nib to an absolutely wonderful stub or cursive italic nib (depending on how narrow you grind the point). I did not need to smooth the nib with micromesh after using the 2000 grade sandpaper. Just grind the bottom mostly and the top and the point of the nib a bit by rubbing it against the sandpaper in a side-to-side motion to remove the tipping material and to create a flat point--keeping testing the pen while grinding the nib, and when you are happy with how it writes, STOP grinding. The stock steel nib has a lovely bounce that makes stub/italic writing a great pleasure. The 14k nib is absolutely fantastic--it turns the WingSung 630 into a truly exceptional daily driver. With an EF nib, the pen is extremely precise. The width is almost equivalent to a needlepoint nib. The pen writes with a lovely, springy bounce (not flex, but highly enjoyable). On cheap but good composition notebooks, like the Dealworthy notebooks (Target) or Staples's better quality composition notebooks, the pen produces excellent shading and/or sheen(!) with acceptable shadowing to permit writing on both sides of each page (no bleeding), depending on what ink you are using. The writing characteristics of shading/sheen/acceptable shadowing are true for all nib sizes up to M (I haven't tried the B nibs) and for steel and 14k. I especially like the flat-top versions with transparent barrels--not only clearly different from Montblanc, but highly attractive in an absolute sense. No, it's not Italian celluloid, but it's also not $1000+. This is a pure WRITING experience, not a beautiful aesthetic appearance. Ink flow is excellent, and I have never had any problems with any nibs, apart from some occasional low ink flow at the outset that resolved with patient and gentle continued use of the pen, which gradually resolved ink flow. With a steel nib, these pens are roughly in the price range of TWSBI and others, but the quality of the WingSung 630 is so vastly superior to TWSBI and the like that it's an absolute joke that TWSBI is priced at a comparable level. Put the Montblanc 149 clone prejudice aside (get the flat-top version if you are concerned about it). Buy this pen--and replace the nib, unless you are a steel M nib lover. For sheer writing pleasure, this will be the best ~$50 (with steel nib replacement) or ~$200 (with 14k nib replacement) you have ever spent on a fountain pen.

A surprisingly good fountain pen at a great price.
I purchased the black cigar model which is very similar to the famous "white mountain" luxury model. The appearance is great. At first fill with Aurora Black ink it wrote very smoothly. The nib writes as more of a fine than medium. It required no adjustment or smoothing like many pens do at start up. It feeds ink reliably at excessive speed on paper. It fits my hand well and the weight is comfortable and well balanced. It is comfortable to write with the cap posted or not. Based on the initial experience I expect it to be a reliable daily writer.

Excellent pen hands down
I really wanted a fine nib on this pen for writing, the feel with this pen is excellent, the ink flow is great, and I did try, and it worked, changing the nib with an Asvine no 8 nib, needed to soak the pen in hot water for 15-30 seconds then pulling feed and nib, placing the Asvine fine nib on the feed and inserting again. Works for me like a dream, love it. Would buy again

Good pen, may need tuning
I do like this pen. It’s a good size, posts well, and the plunger works well for the piston fill. I like the ability to unscrew the nib housing unit for cleaning. The grip section diameter is 12.95 mm - 13.5 mm. It has a slight lip at the end of the grip section, I might have liked a bit more flare. The demonstrator barrel and flat tops are so fun. The cap unscrews in 3/4th of a turn, which is phenomenal. Pen cap seal is an area of improvement, inks would start darker after a day, or even a few hours. I had problems with skipping, I am still working to tune the nib.

My First Junlai~ And it is a Beautiful Pen
I know this is modeled after the Mont Blanc 149, and there is an entire debate on copying styles, so I'm not getting into that. On it's own, this is a beautiful pen. The #8 Medium is nicely wet without being a 'gusher.' It is very smooth with just the slightest big of feedback, depending on your paper. This is my first Junlai, and I'm very happy with the build quality. The resin feels nice, not like a cheap plastic. The pen has a nice, comfortable heft to it. The fit and finish is very smooth. It is a large pen, but I have large hands so it is very comfortable in my hand. The piston mechanism is extremely smooth, and works very well. I am very happy with this.

Body quality very nice. Nib quality hit or miss? (with update)
I really want to like this pen, unfortunately the slit in the nib is way off center causing issues with smoothness and feed. I have to flood the feed to get it to write and when it does, it is extremely scratchy. I purchased this pen based on previous reviews, but will likely return this very soon. I could try replacing the nib, but I shouldn't have to do that with a brand new pen. Update....Call me crazy, but I liked the body and feel in the hand to order a second one in hopes the terrible nib was a fluke. The second pen was perfect and writes wonderful. I'm upping my rating from one star to three stars. It would have been 5 stars if I would have received the second pen the first time. Now to return the first one.

My new daily writer!
I've been a fountain pen collector for many years. Actually, I'm more user than collector, but in my heyday I had a sweet number of Montblancs, including many of their "Writer's Series". I say this not to boast, but as background information. The Juniai 630 is an homage to the classic Montblanc 149. For the price, I was skeptical of the quality I might find. But from the moment I inked it, I was impressed. Is this pen as good as the MB? Yes, and no. The cap threads are not as smooth as Montblanc. But who writes with the cap? Nobody. The two-tone nib is smooth as butter, the piston filler is flawless, and the ink flow is sublime. To me, this pen is a solid 9.5, better than many of the Italian pens I once collected (and cost ten or more times the price of the Juniai). Will I buy more of these pens? Absolutely! In fact, I ordered another today.

Nib problems, hard starts
Unpacking the pen is not bad, for what you pay it's not a bad proposition but I was not expecting to do much other than ink up and writing. However once I got the pen out of the box the piston was not aligned for max fill. This was my first piston filler I had to align, other name brands ive purchased twsbi and lamy have worked out of the box without needing alignment. When I disassembled the pen to get the piston knob at the right point I found some junk on the piston seal, seemed like some sort of fuzz or dust that made it's way in during assembly. I pulled it away and that was that. The pen hard starts nearly every time I am not writing continuously. The first 5mm or so of travel the pen does not put ink down. Sometimes between words it will loose ink at the tip and hardstart again. See photos of my writing sample. The first stroke of The J and many Ts are half there. On the one minute uncapped test, it inked when I got halfway. I'm sure a nib swap or adjustment would solve it, but a little dissapointing when you want a reliable writer. It's certainly nicer looking than many budget FPs from brand names at this price point but reliability is questionable. I think if it can write reliably it is worth it over say a twsbi eco if you want a nice looking pen. Honestly though I'd have a hard time recommending this pen to non FP enthusiasts because it takes some work out of the box.

surprise by the quality of writing
I am surprised of the quality of this pen for such a low price. I have more that 12 fountain pen, some very expensive and this one is the one I bring with me wherever I go instead of my expensive pens

Montblanc look alike for those who aren’t millionaires.
Very good pen but a pity that it’s only sold with a fine nib. Good for the Chinese market but too restrictive for the European market. Design heavily “borrowed” from Montblanc. Quality adequate for a beater but without the sublime quality of a Montblanc pen.
