Tetra Whisper Air Pump with Minimal Noise and Maximum Air Flow

Smooth airflow and very quiet. Great, compact size for my shelf.

Very well built. Using for 90 gallon tall aquarium and it is more than adequate with XL sponge filter and large air stone. Not the quietest pump on the market. But since it is enclosed by the canopy, I can barely hear it. The bubble noise hides the pump noise. This pump is likely adequate for even a 125 gallon. I also use the Whisper pump rated for 100 gallon in a 125 gallon aquarium. It still works after 5 years of use and is only slightly louder than new. Air output has degraded to about 60%-70% of original. Sunsun pump w dual outlet, same 4 watt power, gradually became unbearably loud after 3 yrs of use. Now I only use for backup. Output is severely diminished and noise level is annoying.

I've only just set mine up, so I will re-submit my review if anything changes but so far, this air pump is great! The buzz is barely perceptible in a busy room, and as another reviewer stated, the bubbles rising to the top make more noise than the pump itself does. Setup was super easy and the output is actually pretty impressive. With the 60 pump, I'm running one 4" stone and I'm actually rather impressed with the output. Unless you plan on running several stones or curtains in a big tank, or running air to a second tank, you don't need to go with the beefier pumps.

This pump is powerful! With its two outlets and accessory T, valves, etc you can combine airflow to make an insane air bubble stream. Anyhow, I bought this because I was concerned another purchase wouldn't be as quiet as promised. I compared the two and this unit compared to the other MyLivell ceramic pump is definitely not whisper quiet. In fact, compared to the unit it was meant to replace (Fluval) it is still noisy, albeit a more consistent and soothing hum and not a loud buzz. I'll use this unit if I get a bigger tank (mine is 30g) or if the other breaks. It's quiet, but its not whisper quiet. Also, I didn't take measurements off the of the site, but I'll point out that the 60 unit is much larger than I expected! It barely fits in the palm of my hand. Something to consider since cord is on one end, and output ports are on the other.

I read about how people have mix reviews. Sometimes it is loud and some says it is quiet and how to fix it if it is loud. Tested it and I am lucky. I was actually ready to open it up and fix it myself-maybe even add hot glue to help make it not move off its adjustment (for the price of this 60 gal it is worth it). IT IS QUIET SO I LEFT IT ALONE...LOL I tested it with 4-3/4" airstones (2 on each side and added another 2 to make it 6 total with shut off valve. I have to replace valves and airstones to get the 6 to work. I ended up using 4 though. I am just trying to supplement some aeration to my kratky hydroponics/DWC hybrid. I only run it on a timer for 5 minutes every hour for 4 hours/day ( after 3 months). You really don't need it on Kratky setup but I have the "cut and come again veggies" so it really exceeded what it is supposed to. But if I like to harvest till winter, I have to make it a hybrid setup.

Very happy with this unit. It does hum a bit , but not as bad as some others. It sits solid and doesn't vibrate off of the table it's on. Very happy with it.

The best air pump for the price. I just had to replace my Whisper air pump that ran continuously for over 10 years. (Still worked, just lost pressure) And even repairing it was an option as Whisper offers replacement parts. The new one is the same quality as the one it replaced. Not many products can claim that these days. They are quiet, reliable and you just can't beat the price. I would recommend these air pumps to anyone, even to those with deep tanks. Don't forget the check valves!

I ordered this on April 2nd, 2023. It worked flawlessly up until today May 5, 2023. It provided the much needed aeration to the tank with my large comet goldfish, plecos, and dwarf red-tail. When the unit was operating at 100% it was actually quieter than the two Hang on Back (HOB) filters I have. I believe one of the arms may have broken or something since now air is going into the right air-stone.

My favourite air pump. I use this on all of my tanks. Reliable, quiet and powerful. Highly recommend.

Came to me in uk with a US plug. The box was falling apart. Obviously second hand.
