Obviously, this blender is quite expensive compared to lot of other reasonable personal blenders. It is also designed to be an ideal smoothy machine, and if you're doing that a lot, this is your solution. The construction, especially the metal shaft and mating connectors from the blade unit to the base, is fully Breville quality as far as I can tell. The unit is powerful and it is generally easy to get smoothie ingredients to blend without too much intervention.Pros:- Powerful motor; good blade design- Excellent construction (plastics, containers, and all mechanicals)- Good at pulling smoothy ingredients together as long as the mix isn't too thick (drinkable more than soft service ice cream consistency)- Fast - for all it does, it either does quickly, or it doesn't work for that use very well (e.g., spice grinding).Cons:- Actually less flexible than "bullet" type devices. Won't double as a grinder (spices or even things like flax seeds, which I do only in my full sized blender, but could do in a magic bullet before)- Not as good with very thick mixtures, which require more coaxing and perhaps stirring in the middle- Loud!! The sound quality doesn't sound cheap or whiney, but it is definitely loud.- You must hold the cup/base while blending; no walking away. I guess some units have a latch and/or timer, but this one assumes it will be over quickly.- Instructions imply that this shouldn't be used for very long blending times to avoid overheating. If your smoothy isn't blending right away, stop and mix up or dilute it more; time won't help.

We decided to invest and upgrade our personal blender after using the cheap Hamilton blender, which I hated cleaning. I spent a week researching personal blenders and after reading countless reviews, landed on the Breville Boss To Go Sport Blender.We make smoothies 3-4 times a week and this blender does the job. The machine is well made, heavy duty, and looks nice on the counter. It makes super smooth smoothies, frozen iced coffees, and frosé. It's easy to use and the most important thing - easy to clean. It comes with just what you need, and we didn't need the other billion parts that many other personal blenders seem to come with.It's the perfect for what we need. We haven't tried making anything else in it yet, but I can easily see making sauces an easy task.I did have trouble taking the top off once (as noted in some other reviews), but that is because I overfilled it. The instructions clearly say to avoid overfilling it. I just let it sit for a couple of minutes and the air settled and I was able to take it off fine.

Breville got it right. I did much research before buying, & this is the Best one, bar none. I use it almost everyday. IMHO:* Easy to use* Sealed base = no rubber gasket to get gunked up with smoothie remnants which can mold over short time.* Metal Base under the Stainless Steel blades = more durable than plastic.* Incl 2 diff style BPA-free "cups" with To-Go Lids - u can drink directly from cups/ no ridges at rim to hinder direct drinking* Streamlined look for no-clutter countertop.* MOST IMPORTANTLY: Yields perfectly smooth smoothies! Thoroughly blends quickly for a very pleasing result.Highly recommend if you want the Best smoothie maker. Might have higher price than others, but imho it's the only one you'll ever need to buy.

This blender surpasses all others I have ever had. The ninja would leave chunks in my smoothie that I would end up chewing. This blender can handle whole carrots and other solids pureeing them smooth as silk and it is much quieter than the ninja. A+! Was worth the investment. Plus it looks good and is very durable. Has good weight to it and doesn’t move while working. Also very easy to clean.

I love the smoothies that come out of this blender, as well as the sturdiness and size of the containers. I opted for this comparatively expensive brand because I have so many other Breville products (that I love), and I was impressed with the quality of the housing and parts. I’ve used this every single day since it arrived two months ago and haven’t seen any indication that it won’t continue to deliver wonderfully creamy smoothies. It’s powerful and rapidly whizzes ice and frozen fruit into frothy goodness. However, I can’t give the Boss blender five stars because it’s a grueling ordeal to unscrew the jar from the blade mechanism. If I put these together a little more loosely, the smoothie ingredients splurt out during blending. When I tighten it *just* barely enough to prevent this...I can’t get them apart.

I have a full sized Breville blender with the "blender cup" blending attachment and I am satisfied with it albeit it was too expensive. I purchased this Sport Blender because I was hoping that it would be quicker/easier to make smoothies and clean. Boy was I wrong! Firstly, there are no controls except on/off. Secondly, it automatically revs up to the highest power and makes an electrical "burning" smell? The first time I used it I was careful not to go over the Max line in filling it and the blending results were good but I had a very difficult time unscrewing the blender cup from the base. The second time I used it I put in even less ingredients and the blending results were good again but I could't unscrew the cup from the base no matter how hard I tried. I returned it to Amazon with the ingredients still in it - defective/unuseable.

I love this blender. Crushes ice in seconds and blends nuts so fast! This is a must have for those looking to buy a blender. It is sometimes a bit hard to unscrew the cup from the blade but I have never had a huge problem with it! My whole family uses it and is even looking to buy extra cups and caps!

We’ve had this blender for a few years and it performed well with light, occasional use. Enter 2024, the year of the daily smoothie, and sadly this bender died after only a few weeks of daily use. We aren’t hard on our appliances, so it’s disappointing that what seemed like a high quality product couldn’t fulfill its purpose in life…durable this blender is not.
