These should be on all compressors. I bought this because my ultra quiet compressor was pulling to many amps on startup for my generator. I bought a Menards brand compressor that featured the same motor as the California Air Tools 10020 unit- but was puzzled why the start up amps were too many for my 3500 watt generator. This simple valve fixed the problem. The California air tools compressor has the easy start valve installed from the factory. You can buy this valve and a couple of adapters and save some money over buying the California air tools unit. The Menards and Lowes ultra quiet 20/26 gallon units have very similar/same motors, and are less expensive.

My 21 gallon compressor would not start when full of air. It would not restart when in the middle of a task. This was the culprit, and easy to swap out. A new cold start valve and all is a-okay!

I like it the only thing was I heard it for my compressor that I got from harbor freight it said it was supposed to fit but it wasn't the correct thread type I had to alter it to make it work but it does

Purchased for my harbor freight 2.5 hp compressor motor. Didn't fit, thread is a bit wider n wont fit correctly.

This is a must buy and an upgrade from the MFG part. The MFG part, my compressor would not start in any cold weather. It would start and then pop the trip and I have to reset the power on it. Once I replaced the old part with this one it starts up in any weather. I should have done this years ago.

This valve on my compressor had gone faulty and would not seal. While the unit was not an exact part replacement it worked just the same and got my compressor back up and working.
