I am a paper crafter and I have spent a lot of money on paper trimmers over the years. The ones with the sliding blades are so useless. The replacement blades are expensive and they never cut cleanly. This Dahle 507 cutter is fabulous! A clean, precise cut every single time! I highly recommend this brand! When I finally get a crafting room, I will also invest in the larger size because this trimmer is with me to stay!

Fazit:angemessenes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis,saubere Verarbeitung Made in Germany-für nicht-professionelle Benutzung gut geeignet.

I did a little research before I bought this. I have cutters for different things but I wanted a strait forward cutter that would cut larger paper without costing a fortune. $36 was worth my while to try. My first concern was I thought I needed a big base for the paper but turns out the amount of area is big enough and this keeps it lighter weight and easy to put away. Second I was not use to the roller cutters and I saw things that said you should get the bigger ones for this but this one seems to be pretty darn nice with really clean cut for single sheet cuts and I can go back and shear off the thinnest of paper if I didn't get it close enough. Third there was some concerns in reviews about lining up or not cutting where it was supposed to but others said it had an adjustment. I can see where this can be a concern if you need to get it within a hair. I admit I did not get it to be that close, so I am not concerned about it but it seems to be pretty close. I haven't messed with an adjustment because I don't need it that close. You for sure would need a brighter room if you really want to line it up just perfect because the clear bar can make it a little hard to see the cut line but with use you will learn where to cut and have no problem cutting just a little more off if you need it, unlike my Guillotine cutter that could fold the paper (if not held right) rather than cut it. I also saw a video where placing a light at the edge from under can show you right where to cut and if I ever need to be that close I can see doing that. Forth concern really was not my concern but I tested it anyway. People commented it wasn't good for multiple sheets and I would agree with that. If you are wanting to cut multiple papers the "exact" same size, I would get a different cutter or be prepared to cut them all one at a time. OTHER THINGS I like. I love how the paper stays in place when you go to cut. I still hold it when I go to cut but other cutters can still move the paper, this one I tested and you can cut with one hand if you needed to. The paper is held in place with the bar and the cutter. I also love how light weight it is but it stays where you put it. My guillotine cutter requires a workout to move it around but this one is a quick pick up and move with one hand. Also even though it for larger paper because the base it is thinner, it is easy to stash away. For all these reason I would say if you are second guessing it, I think it is a good buy.
