Mens Flannel Lined Waxed Cotton Shirt Jacket

This jacket punches above its class. Comparable with jackets twice the price. I was going to get a Huckberry, but I’m glad I picked this instead. The stitching is very good, the materials are very good, and the wax is decent. It’s surprisingly thin and light, but in a good way. I felt warm with this jacket and a thin short sleeve in 35f. Indoors, I’m still comfortable and don’t feel hot like in other jackets. I’m able to move without restriction and feel confident placing it however I want. It looks very sharp overall. After standing it on a hanger for a day, the wrinkles and creases came out. Regardless of how I store it, I’m not worried about wrinkles. The style subdues any wrinkles, and they work themselves out naturally through normal wear. I only have one negative: the badge on the left sleeve. It feels tacky and the embroidery doesn’t match the quality of the jacket.

I purchased various Legendary Whitetails Men's Journeyman Shirt Jackets as Christmas gifts for my husband, my two sons, and my two nephews. The gifts were well received. They were a big hit at our family Christmas party. The only complaint I overheard came from the boys wanting more of them. This particular shirt/jacket is definitely more of a jacket than a shirt. I mentioned that I ordered several different colors and styles of this brand. Fortunately, the son who attends college in Boulder ended up with this one. All of the other Legendary Whitetails Shirt/Jackets I ordered were more on the shirt side of a shirt/jacket. This worked out well for us because we live in Louisiana, my other son is in Pharmacy school in the deep south, and my two nephews live in Texas. This Shirt/Jacket is exceptionally comfortable and is good for colder weather. It's not clothing you would want to keep on while inside. Regarding sizing, my son said it is true to size. He is a true Medium in nearly everything I purchase. He's 20 years old, 5'10 or maybe 5'll, and about 160 pounds. He works out and is fit, but has broad shoulders. I bought a size Medium for my husband as well. He is 170, 5'10. My other son is about the same height and weight. They can easily wear a shirt, sweatshirt, hoodie, or turtleneck beneath the shirt/jacket. I suggest ordering your normal size unless you like your jackets to fit baggy or you are larger in the stomach area. If you live in the north or midwest and plan on layering more than one article of clothing under the shirt/jacket, you may want to consider the bigger size. This shirt/jacket is a remarkable deal for the price. Everyone who received one as a gift from me has worn theirs multiple times. The jackets look better now -- with that worn-in look. It keeps the bitter cold of Michigan from biting and protects from harsh wind. The shirt/Jacket has several interior and exterior pockets. I can tell when someone genuinely likes a gift and this topped our family Christmas bestseller list and has already been added to the repeat performer list for 2022. If you're looking for a heavier shirt/jacket for colder months, one that you can layer or wear over a sweatshirt or hoodie, this is for you. If you are looking for a lighter-weight shirt/jacket that you can leave on indoors then I would try one of Legendary Whitetails many other shirt/jacket options. Overall, this is a fabulous product. It outperforms competitors in value, purpose, and appearance. That’s a winner in my opinion

We picked up the Legendary Whitetails Men’s Flannel Lined Shirt Jacket (Waxed Cotton, Water Resistant) for our son, and it has been an instant favorite. He absolutely loves the fit, the color, the weight, and the overall style. It’s one of those pieces that looks good while still being practical, which isn’t always easy to find. The waxed cotton gives it a sturdy, well-made feel without being stiff, and the flannel lining adds just the right amount of warmth for cooler days. It’s comfortable, versatile, and clearly designed with both function and style in mind. If we could give it a 10/10, we would—but since we’re limited to five stars, this one gets all five without hesitation. Highly recommended.

I read a lot of reviews before actually buying this jacket and the biggest complaint was regarding the lining. The inside pocket has a Velcro closure. Complaints centered on the Velcro coming loose or opening the pocket leading to a tear in the lining. I agree the Velcro was poorly sewn but had a strong grip that could easily lead to tearing the lining. I took the Velcro out to avoid tearing the lining. The complaint I have with this inside pocket is the size. I have a Pixel 9 XL Pro which fits but so snuggly it takes both hands to place the phone in the pocket or remove it. The two outside chest pockets accommodate the phone easily but they're not deep enough to allow usage of the metal snap closure. The metal snaps seem to be of good quality and function well. There is one on each outside chest pocket, two on each wrist closure, and seven down the front of the jacket. The outer material feels durable and is water resistant. The only flaw on the outside are the two hand pockets. They are nice and roomy and easy to slide my hands into; however, the opening is vertical with the side seam which I like but they gape open when I sit down and several times my keys, ear buds, reading glasses case or other accessories have fallen out. All in all I am well pleased with it after having worn it for about 6 months. I have had more positive comments on the cut, look, and material than any coat I've owned before this one.

So, this is designed to be worn as either a jacket or a shirt, allowing you to layer it in and wear it on cold blustery days. I am 6' 1" tall with an athletic build and the large was quite big. I know it's to allow for a shirt underneath to be worn as a jacket, but it was just too big for me. I returned it and ordered the medium which gives it a tailored look. I plan to wear it, here in Denver as a cold weather jacket and then as a shirt in the spring and summer. It's really a great concept and allows for year-round wear (Denver is actually a very temperate climate, but plan accordingly depending on where you live). I got the brown with the plaid inner shell and it looks great. This is a cotton/polyester blend with approximately 65/35 cotton to polyester respectively. I've ordered many, many shirts and the blend is the way to go in all cases. I know everyone says cotton, but blends give you so much more in durability, comfort, moisture wicking properties, and bright colors. I never by 100 percent of x in any shirt, it's always a blend. This looks great with jeans as casual wear; you can't go wrong and there is a wide selection or product with Legendary Whitetails store. Be careful on the care instructions as the tag states this may bleed if washed with white colors in warm to hot water. It's best to do the first wash by itself and then wax the shirt with a water repellant wax to waterproof it.

I like this jacket. I ordered a medium and it's big, that's fine. I love the color and the camo lining. it's comfortable. Ilike the look. I have other waxed jackets, this is the lightest material-wise. it's not really waxed, but kind of has that waxed feeling. the thing is, the fabric is super cheap and thin. so I've worn it less than 10 times now, and the fabric is developing holes in it in front of the pockets. I guess when I have things in my pockets and rub up against something, it just easily wears the outer fabric down and holes are forming. I'm not abusing this thing, I'm using it to walk my dog in the city and that's it. I've only had it about 2months but it's beyond the return window. I'll continue to wear it, I just wish the quality was better.

Great quality although one of my lapel pocket snaps isn’t set right it closes, but not as securely as the rest. It’s pretty well priced for what it is and I really appreciate the sizing chart because it fits perfectly and very comfortably. It’s a lightweight jacket which makes it great to pair with something thicker for a bit more warmth as it grows colder. It keeps me pretty warm for the fall, but by winter I’m putting on my thicker coat. Love the style it very much evokes the look of an older style jacket. Great job Legendary Whitetails.

Excellent quality shacket!

The fabric finish is almost waxy and has a very slight shine in certain light. It looks really good and it's super soft, but the colour isn't exactly true to the pictures. It's almost a dark charcoal green. (I swear I'm not colour blind) As other reviewers mentioned, the company wasn't exactly forthcoming in stating that the flannel lining doesn't extend down the arms, but they did add a different interior material for the sleeves, which feels nice. It's a really comfortable jacket, and apart from my skepticism about the long term durability of the snaps, it seems to be very well constructed. Maybe more of a fashion piece than something you'd wear into the bush expecting rigorous performance from. Remember there are no lower torso pockets like most jackets of a similar style will include. It's too bad (from my perspective that) these guys are a "hunting" brand, but it is what it is. They make good clothing.
