Where does the waste band hit? Is it a little below belly button or are they truly low rise?

It 100% matters which style (fit) you have on. Some of the styles should hit below the belly button & some above. For example, the ‘boy shorts’ style, hits above the belly button but the ‘bikini’ style hits below the belly button.
